"Debra Winger married a man named Arliss Howard." You mean the wonderful actor, director and screenwriter? Lol!

I really couldn't care less what role she is in. I could stare into her eyes for the rest of my life! Also, you didn't mention the film Legal Eagles, with Robert Redford. It was a very enjoyable film.

Most people who quit HELLYWOOD know it's evil and want nothing to do with it. They usually don't find out just how Satanic it is until they make their first hit movie.

My favorite Debra Winger film is an Officer and a Gentleman right next to Urban Cowboy, she was great in both roles and I have to say she was a great fit with Richard Gere and my favorite actor John Travolta because both films showed her love and passion for her role she’s amazing, and because both movies are hardly ever on the Cable or Streaming network and I had to purchase them to watch at home as much I want to, Looking For Love from Urban Cowboy is a great song and my favorite 😍

Gotta love these actresses that talk about YEARS of mistreatment in Hollywood, yet they're so greedy for fame they don't want anything else. Go get a job at an insurance agency Miss High and Mighty 😂. You're totally replaceable

I remember a interview with her and I was shocked how she publicly slammed her co star in officer and a gentleman. I don't recall seeing anything more of her after that. I think she burned to many bridges.

I'm confused. Did Debra never want to do loves scenes in movies or was her gripe with nudity? It seems like she had to leave Hollywood to let Demi Moore enter. I feel like there can't be two similar actors in Hollywood @ the same time bc it causes cinema confusion.

That's an incredible story. From the car accident to becoming a multui-nominated actress for an Oscar. Really amazing.
Of course, An Officer and a Gentleman and Terms of Endearment are great films, and she was great in them. I did not like her on Wonder Woman at all. I hated that character! So, I think a spinoff would have been terrible, and I doubt Winger made lifelong fans from that role either. It was a stepping-stone role so she could have something on her reel and résumé. Lynda Carter was, and remains, the most beautiful woman who has ever beem cast to play Wonder Woman and will forever be Wonder Woman for many. I didn't see Urban Cowboy because it didn't appeal to me, which is fine. I haven't seen anything else Debra Winger has done and thought she was gone for good, as I don't really watch television and wouldn't have known about her on a TV series unless it was huge.
But, I think her early success was that she looked like a normal girl next door. She wasn't glamorous and sexy in the way that many Hollywood glamour-types are, such as Kim Bassinger, Michelle Pfieffer, Angelina Jolie or Halle Berry, to name a few. That old question of who was sexier, Ginger or Mary Ann? Debra was a Mary Ann. I thought she was a bit overrated, to be honest, and in Terms of Endearment I enjoyed Shirley MacClaine's role best, particularly her relationship with the obnoxious neighbor she ends up with played by Jack Nicholson.
Why she didn't want to be in the same picture with Madonna is her personal choice, but it sounds rather snobbish, though I wouldn't doubt there were others who refused to work with Madonna on various projects in the past. Did Debra Winger think Madonna would demand too much attention on set or steal the movie, or that she would slow down production? Was it because she was a pop star and not so much an actress? Madonna's star as an actress never rose higher than EVITA, which is a great role that she put her heart and soul into and she did well in it. I was surprised she could hit the high notes. But, Madonna knew her limits and took voice lessons to train her voice so she could do the role, and those lessons paid off. It was also because of Madonna that they were able to film the balcony scene at the actual Casa Rosada in Argentina instead of a recreation on a soundstage (which made a meaningful difference, I think). That says something about her and her commitment to the role. I also noticed a change in her own music around this time, and I liked a few of her songs during that period; but unfortunately, she didn't stick to this new depth and range she acquired and reverted to meaningless crap. Sorry, Madonna fans, it's just an opinion.
A League of Their Own was another movie that I skipped. I am more familiar with Rosie O'Donnell and Gina Davis' roles in that movie than anyone else because of interviews and hearing Rosie talk about it on her talk show. So, perhaps, if Debra Winger had done the film it wouldn't have been become what she thought it might become. Or did it? I don't know. Ask Debra Winger.

You forgot the movie "Dawn Anna". One part of the movie was based off the Columbine School massacre, she's a mother, and her daughter was one of the kids shot and killed that day. Along with the other heart breaking trials and tribulations she went through as a mother, and as a woman in general in the movie, she was brilliant in that movie.
❤💔

She did the voice of ET oh wow I really love her for that for sure. I love her so much. She deserves all the credit that’s messed up. I’m gonna miss her. She’s one of my favorite actors and all movies, urban cowboy urban cowboy. That’s my favorite and then in officer in the gentleman now is my favorite one and then, and then when she played in terms of endearment, that was a good movie, she is a great actress. How could she not get credit because people are stupid they get the slutty b*****s and the other and other shows that’s what makes me sick.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👊✌️👏😃
