Here is a good page on wiring for different types of machines...and their wiring configurations!
ОтветитьMidi + usb,,,, how connect?
ОтветитьMy kind of hacking! Well done, sir.
ОтветитьHow annoying, so to be clear, you need a TS not TRS. I didnt realize this when ik bought my used. TS to midi is extremely rare. I found a TRS t ok TS adapter and will use that on my MIDI to TRS adapter
What a strange design decision in hindsight
Can this send midi clock to to a modular device?
ОтветитьNice very informative!
Ответитьwhy do they use 5 pin if you really need 3 though?
ОтветитьThank you very much!!! Very instructive
ОтветитьYour a king! Thanks bro, I bought one without a adapter also, so I'm like , oh yeah I got two brand new used adapter from Korg, they don't work, this will!
ОтветитьYou Rockkkkk…. Looking into a synth and want to plug my guitar in, so this will certainly help, and after checking along with the video they do make the connectors,, wonderful video, to the point, thank you..
ОтветитьAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHi, I'm trying to build one. I'm trying send Midi sync from my Digitech Sdrum to my TC-Helicon Voicelive 3, which works great with the BeatBuddie.I bought a trs cable and a midi tip to insert on one end, I've soldered the shielding to pin number 2 and experimented with the other 2 cables on pin 4 and 5, tryed the two possible ways but couldn't get it to work. What am doing wrong?
ОтветитьGonna make my own for the Vanilla Beatstep TS cable. Outrageous shipping charges. I read that using the TRS Pro adapter with the Beatstep TS socket could damage the unit. I have found that by not inserting the adapter all the way I can somewhat unreliably get midi to work okay. But I need to get a permanent fix before I damage my BS so guess what I’m doing today.
Also, use a multimeter set to Continuity to check which wire is connected to which pin. Take the guesswork out of it. Cheers
I need to use two midi sources, beatstep Pro and midi from my DAW, to control a few synths. For this I use a midi thru box with 1 input and 8 outputs and, two have two midi inputs (for BSP and DAW), I got a midi splitter cable. Wanted to avoid changing cables each time need to use different midi controller. The problem is that when I have the two midi cables connected tonite splliter only the DAW works. Is like it has priority over the other. Once I disconnect the DAW cable the BSP can again reach the synths thru the midi thru box... any way to work this around?
Ответитьhi, for me it works with 5 to tip and 4 to ring. I have beatstep pro 2017 with firmware 2.0
ОтветитьThanks , don't take this down I am gonna need it
ОтветитьI've heard not to use TRS in the MIDI out of the beatstep... I just looked at the 3.5mm to MIDI adapter that came with my BeatStep (not pro) and it is mono. Have you experienced any issues?
