I first heard Sara sing this song at the Oscars a few years back and I decided that I was going to use this for when my Mom passes (whenever that happens) because this song is so beautiful but I really like this duet version, even better. Tears me up every time I hear it, thank you Sara and Josh 🙂

Mixer blew it here. The arrangement is the same volume as the vocal. Joni's arrangement was sparce for a reason. Also, this is vocal gymnastics, Groban is normally fantastic. Think song needs real sorrow coming thru.

This is a lovely version of a work of genius. To my ear, nothing surpasses the original recording released by Joni Mitchell in 1969. She wrote it in 1966 when she was 23. The wonder is that it can be sung, as it has been sung, differently by so many different singers. I’m glad Groban and Bareilles made it their own. 👍🏻
