I have fallen in love with that white 140th anniversary seiko gmt. Prices are coming down and there is no shortage so j will wait a bit. I know it’s not a brand seiko but I could buy 4 of these and it’s still just as beautiful, if not more beautiful
ОтветитьI found this video because I have been looking at a lot of watches. Some much more expensive and then this one caught my eye. I like that is a gmt that doesn’t have a bulky outer dial. It seems sleek. The dual itself is beautiful I have given thought to jumping up to a grand seiko but it’s 4 times as much. And j don’t see the value. This js a great everyday watch.
ОтветитьDo you guys ship to India
Ответитьseiko ssk013 gmt presage Review porfavor!
ОтветитьI'm not a watch enthusiest by any means but I do own a few cheaper ones like a garmin fenix, casio edifice and now I own the blue varient of this one and for me the price is perfect as I definately don't earn that much but it was the meaning behind it for me. I was in japan on a tour for 10 days with 2 days by myself I had one of the best times of my life and experiencing the country and it's amazing people was incredible, it was a country I had wanted to visit at least once in my lifetime and the number one on my to visit list.
During my very last day after going up tokyo tower I ended up in Ginza which is near the centre of tokyo and actually within Chuo the founding place of Seiko as it so happens. I was walking down the street saddended to be taking off that night and I came across the Seiko store called dream square. They had many floors one for each watch line and after working out the flooring I found the Presage floor, the lines of watches I loved for their beautiful faces. I walked in not expecting to come out with anything as I was kinda skint from the holiday and not being a big earner so even £1000 was a lot for me. I came across this very watch and I knew it was the one I had to get. I wanted something from a reputable brand from the country I loved, looked elegent, was dependable and would last for many years to come and everytime I look at it it would remind me of the joy I had being in that country.
I'm very happy with this watch, straight from Tokyo Ginza so probably as japanese as it gets as well.
This watch is marvelous
ОтветитьTeddy,
I enjoyed your video on the Seiko Presage gmt. It’s a beautiful watch but I’m not having much luck ordering from my local Seiko AD. He says it’s a botique item and hard to get ahold of. He’s trying to reach his Seiko representative to do a work-around but seems pessimistic. Any suggestions? I’m in Cleveland, Ohio USA.
Managed to snatch a limited edition Ao Fuji SPB303. Really love the dark blue with white accents color combination!
ОтветитьThe watch is absolutely beautiful and the movement is quite accurate. As a true GMT, not too much competition in the space. Obviously, the dial is the belle of the ball which differentiates it from the competition. Why wouldn’t they put a screw down crown on this one? normally, one would expect to swim or sit in the hot tub with 100 m of water resistance. However, I simply would never bring a watch without a screw down crown into the water. If the watch had a screw down crown, it would almost be the perfect one watch collection.
ОтветитьTry to find the sharp edged SPB303J1 limited edition.
The only ones i could find are in the US.
And guess what ? They are at 2500$ right now.
Great watch.. great reviews..
But how about compared to orient star world time..
Can you help mw which better one..
Hopefully you can help🙏
GMT movements such as the Sellita 330-2 can be configured either way - if the manufacturer opts for the jumping hour hand, then this is done at the expense of a quick-set date, whereas with the "office" type the quick-set date function is preserved at the cost of the jumping hour hand.
As a sailor moving at 6 knots I don’t cross time zones very frequently, so I prefer the "office" configuration. In solar navigation, setting the GMT hand to "true" GMT can be used to calculate longitude, and in the modern age it can be used to configure navigational devices where you need to set the GMT offset. I suppose we could call the jumping-hour versions “airplane” GMT’s, and rename the jumping-GMT hand variety “sailor” GMT’s for the same reasons. I do get weary of the term “true GMT”, because it seem to imply that moving from an "office" to a "traveller's" GMT is an "upgrade" that requires a more expensive or elaborate movement.
People who rotate between different watches in their collection need to be aware of this tradeoff in functionality. If you don’t wear your "Traveller" GMT watch every day, you will need to get used to the laborious process of winding the time set until the date clicks over to the current one. This is a nuisance as far as I am concerned, but my point is there are tradeoffs either way - you just have to decide which suits your needs best.
Amazing dial, looks like a Grand Seiko!
Ответитьi ordered the green version of it today. It is definately a eloquent of true beauty.
ОтветитьI just love the seiko dials is unique and not boring like other Swiss brand’s within that price range
ОтветитьDoes the bezel rotate? How many time zones you can set?
ОтветитьLove These. SEIKO IS KING !!!
ОтветитьThank you for this Review Teddy, I just purchased the limited white dial and will have it in my hands in a couple of days. I love your videos, I been binge watching them the last two weeks.
ОтветитьSeiko doesn't understand.
A power reserve over 50 hours is unnecessary. Do you leave your car running over the weekend? 50 it's enough. What watch afficianados want is consistent accuracy in every watch, bottom to top, like Rolex provides. If Seiko did that, they would take over the watch world. A beautiful watch that is inaccurate is like a female who is beautiful on the outside and rotten inside.
Nice watch.
ОтветитьI recently saw the new Akebono limited edition in this line that will be released soon and absolutely fell in love with it!! Hope to be able to come up with enough $ to get ahold of one.
ОтветитьI don't get this its 45mm and wears like a 40mm? No mate sorry but it wears like a 45mm...
ОтветитьThe 30/1 at the bottom RUINS an otherwise beautiful watch. I defy anyone to unsee that once it’s caught their eye…impossible.
ОтветитьThis model had QC difficulties. So definitely not worth buying with that in mind
ОтветитьNo screw down crown, felt cheap to me when I handled one yesterday. Pretty though.
ОтветитьAnyone know where I can buy this watch? Been searching everywhere and no reputable seller pops up. Thanks for the help.
ОтветитьI just purchased the blue dial after watching this and other video reviews. I love its look. Kevin O'leary really liked it.
ОтветитьThe blue is my favorite
ОтветитьGot the blue version about six months ago - love it, love it!
ОтветитьI got the anniversary white dial. I went online and saw the bracelet is $200. I sometimes immediately buy a second bracelet to beat up daily. Or I remove the bracelet altogether and swap on an elastic paratrooper band, a navy blue one in this case. The watch now feels paper light and looks factory.
ОтветитьIs this the only 3 color variations? I've seen some with a ice blue dial wondering if they are fake.
Ответитьexcellent review love that you raise the price issue as part of your review.
Ответитьmy flightmaster has a sub dial you can set as a separate timezone. never understood why this isnt a preferable design to the typical GMT hand
ОтветитьI am going to give a chance to this opportunity Seiko offers, with their true GMT !
ОтветитьI prefer the Seiko 5 GMT. Much better price and value.
ОтветитьHey Teddy, thanks for the content as always! Better value in your opinion - Mido Oceanstar 200 or Seiko Presage Sharp Edge GMT?
ОтветитьAnyone have an opinion on a strap for the 217? I'm open to almost any style - just not a fan of the bracelet
ОтветитьThese are nice but I’m probably more likely to jump in if they dropped a prospex gmt.
I don’t like the sub dials and all the cute stuff they try with the presages
Man, I can't decide between the black or blue dial. 🤔⌚
ОтветитьHow about a micro-brand GMT Venezianico with a blue dial with a Seiko move in 39 MM?
ОтветитьJust snagged one! THANKS TB!
ОтветитьPurchased the Black Dial and love it!
ОтветитьI wish they made a slightly smaller version of this.
ОтветитьSeiko still giving shit bracelets at the 3000 + range with their MM300 :). Other than the bracelet, I have no complaints though.
ОтветитьValue I think should include resale value.
ОтветитьAt least you can buy a Seiko which is more than I can say for some other brands..... some for instance who make bioceramic fake toy watches which you cannot even purchase LOL
ОтветитьChapter ring misalignment at this level is unacceptable
ОтветитьMy Fiance saw me looking at the seiko 140 th sharpe edge videos… and arrived home with it today. It’s a stunning time piece I’m an extremely happy man today ❤️
ОтветитьAs much as I love Seiko, this sharp edge series doesn't make it at all for me. I'm just not a fan of this hand design which ruins it all.
Ответить
