I watched a scene in the series that ended with River telling Jayne that she could kill him with her brain. At the time, he probably thought she was just talking crazy.

"I can't, I can't... River?"
I dunno why, but this line gets me so much

Why would you cut it off right at the best part then stick a bunch of stupid crap at the end?

Credit to everyone involved here (and to the genius of killing Wash): I literally had not seen Firefly, Serenity was my jumping on point, but this became super tense for a while. I thought there was a chance they were going to go really grimdark and kill half or even all of the cast.

According to the commentary they had to stop takes because Summer was crying so hard during the scene.

She and Sean had built up so much of a rapport that it was such an emotional moment for her to get through.

You almost have to feel sorry for those poor defenceless Reavers.

The fact that he cared more about healing Kaylee even while he was bleeding out

Honestly, this scene was a missed opportunity thrown away for a rote action scene. The series built up River's supposed deadly psychic abilities and threw it away on her just being Buffy.

I didn’t appreciate the payoff of this scene until I rewatched it

She always did love to dance.

Sibling stuff in film always gets me. I'm really close with my sister and I really connect with it and this gets me misty every damn time.

Just noticed that she ran like Tom Cruise.

Whelan made a huge mistake in killing off several main cast members.

The fact that she’s the o my one left standing, without a scratch, is absolute badass on a whole other level. Disney should be taking notes, THIS is how you write strong female characters that stand up next to the men.

"My turn" is such a badass line. Up to that moment, you think she's just despairing, she's losing hope and shutting down. But nope, instead she's stepping up and refusing to let anything take her brother from her.

Disapointed the rest of the scene wasn't shown. Only one survived and it wasn't a Reaver.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT MOVIE… and Series.. nothing quite like it. 5 💖💖💖💖💖s in my book.

Summer Glau was pretty cool

I had a party like this in a pancake house once...lol Flapjacks and bodies everywhere!

Summer is an incredible actor, she really lives the part. I can't imagine anyone else who could do what she does and carry it off anywhere near as convincingly.

Loved her........my favorite character.
The River Tam character made this go from an excellent movie to a CLASSIC one.

The thing about this scene: we'd just lost Book and Wash. There was a solid chance we were gonna live everyone else. Everyone is on edge wondering who itll be.

Then Kaylee gets hit. Next Simon. Seems like those two are gonna be the next to go?

Then River makes her move, and for the first time we feel hope. Cause if anyone can survive that Reaver's hell. . . Its an unleashed River Tam.


We've just been waiting for her to wake up.

Why did they let this series die? The cast just clicked, and Serenity was magic.

Those poor Reavers.
