What build did you use as the STEAM OS! I Have a B550m board with 3100x cpu and 8gb ram (2x4) and AMD MSI RX580 Gaming 8gb GPU with a 1.5tb Sata drive. Also have a 512gb M.2 gen 3 (2800-3400mb/s) but have not bothered to add the m.2 yet. What OS will work best? Also was thinking of dual booting win 11 and steam os on my 5800x/3060ti build but heard NVIDIA is bad.

I had this laptop my first 2 years of college. Motherboard died and has been in pieces in a bag since 😅
ОтветитьHow did you get 30 FPS on TF2? I have the same exact hardware, running Void Linux and get 200~ FPS.
Ответитьglorious eggroll
ОтветитьBit late here, but here are somethings that could have been causing poor performance. 1. Single channel RAM, I didn't see a second stick on the logicboard, so unless it was soldered, then that would cut performance. 2. Thermal throttling, I didn't see thermal paste be reapplied, so I'm assuming that it wasn't, and with the age of the machine, the paste is probably rock hard and with the GPU being on the same die as the CPU they both could have been throttling from a lack of heat dissipation. 3 Shader Compilation, seen other mention this but if the shaders weren't compiled then that would result in all the stutters.
Ответитьthe laptop I am watching this on has worse specs and cost 10x that in same condition
ОтветитьOH NO! Why is dedowkayed wam guy crying 😢

ОтветитьDude, amazing video! So good actually that I disabled my adblocker and watched your ad :)
ОтветитьCould use a "fancy" universal laptop charger. Had one like 90W which had exchangeable end plugs to fit all kinds of weirdo laptop standards. The plugs were like 4 pin in, whatever setup out, cause IIRC 2 of the in-pins were used as a "sense" for a resistance hidden in them plugs. Open ended (aka no plug) it would output like 15V, and depending on resistance it would go up to 20V.
Alternatively if that PSU you use fully works, use the damn tracking mode, and then run both channels in parallel for double the amps out :)
Sorry for necro comment - YT recommended me your videos like a day ago and I watch some older ones that it continues to recommend hehe.
How 😢
