one of the biggest prob I had was when I transition from tribal to feudal suddenly I'm weak and can't even support my army lol. so when I restarted I made sure to ammass a huge amount of wealth before transitioning to feudal.

Befriend schemes can be a double edged sword, as when your friends die you gain stress. If your player ruler has stress gaining traits like paranoid, you can wind up with very difficult to manage stress levels as your king ages and his friends begin dying.

Knights and champions with men at arms means you can stack wipe huge armies. Levies are there to siege down cities and take attrition deaths for your army.

I'm a new player. This game is so complicated and you really need to be smart to pick up on these details like this video points out. Unfortunately, I find the game is a massive time suck and I don't know if I can really fit into my real life.

Ok, but hot take… levies are the single most important unit in the game. When all is said and done, the guy with 1000 more levies is prolly gonna win. Even without the men at arms advantage. Ireland wasn’t built in a day, but levies let you take it in ten years in 870 start.

I think i might be too stupid for this game. I got it because i love strategy games like Civilization, but damn this is crazy.

Started a game in ~800 in west Africa (Bassa). Became Duke, king and emperor of Guinea, then was razed to king, then duke... By the year of 1350 I'm emperor all over again and after a dynasty of several rulers, I had NO idea you could focus child education. Thanks for that.

Idk when I tribal spam and own 6 kingdoms as scandanavia, I put markets all over and just raise all armies and swamp everything and end up pretty rich ;D (same for playing as the africas most of the time)

I recruit female children captured in battle. Make them convert to my religion, give them 50 coin to befriend them and then use them to marry powerful knights in order to keep my pool of knights very strong..
