Ludus latrunculorum, (also known as latrunculi, or latrones) was “the game of the brigands” played throughout the Roman Empire. A two player predecessor of Chess and a cousin of Hnefatafl, the objectives of the game are to either capture all your opponent's regular pieces, or to capture your opponent's Dux, or king. Gameplay is simple to learn, with captures being made with a flanking sort of action like in Hnefatafl. Pieces move straight any number of spaces in the rows or columns to their positions.

***I do plan on remaking this video in the future! I made this video because at the time there were no videos explaining the game in English! Now there are! Go watch those! All comments pertaining to my lack of script or saying "umm" way to much will be removed! The feedback has been noted! If it annoys you so much, make your own video!***
