I have been trying to make this set of molds with CNC recently, and there is a question that troubles me. May I ask what is the gap between the upper and lower molds? At present, I am setting a thickness of 2mm, and I am not sure if it is sufficient. Does this mean that only metal plates below 2mm can be shrunk? The answer is very important to me, thank you very much

This is just simply awesome! Would you, know how much “real”time it took to build the whole machine?

Great fun watching the fabrication process and I really like the size of the dies you made. It gets me to thinking I might have to try making an even smaller set for myself. Every once and awhile you work on something small and it would be great to have some tiny dies for shrinking.

If you open your fuse panel it should have a 10 awg. Wire for auxiliary trailor breaks. Should be able to tie into it. And run a ground directly to your frame. I'd wire a bat maintainer, off that to your winch batt. You could always wire it so you could plug in a portable solor panel. When trailor is parked for a while it'll keep the battery up👍👍. Thanks again brother .just sharing ideas I've had.

The machine! I mean - about $100 out of recyclables!!! No wonder there is so much under the bench - it's the tool making idea source. Watching your thought process unfold is very interesting to me. You could make one of these and buy your dies from HF (CP) and be soooo far ahead of the game!!! The build video and this die video were awe inspiring! Today I am going to get back to my little Kart project, grind off the crap and GET BACK TO IT!!! THANK YOU!

A treadmill motor might be a good motor. Variable speed and powerfull. I have one for a grinder/polisher i built. Plan on using one in a belt machine too.

As for lubrication of the machine, around here they make an ag product (brand name) Sliplate. Basically graphite in paint form. They even have it in spay. Used to lubricate field discs, plows, metal on metal... Basically what your machine is doing. Since it's a dry lube you won't get the oil drip down and it'll last longer than the WD40.

Morning Karl, great second video, when you build machines as you are they're never really done...you just keep improving....I should have some updated photos of my 31 Ford Coupe project, kinda waiting for the weather to be a little more consistent so I can do some painting, I don't like to paint in a closed up garage... y'all be safe!! God Bless!!

Heck yeah, I've just had a job postponed. So I should hopefully be able to make it down to Dunsborough this weekend for the meet and greet at Bennets customs, Keen as. I've been watching your channel for ages and have learned heaps of tips and tricks which have helped me out a lot with my Metro project.

What you did here gives me a idea that is really stupid or a genius move.... see if you can visualize it?!! You mentioned a "Sewing Machine" and of course this is hard even for me the ditzy one .... imagine a table similar to the sewing machine but offsets so that when the hammer makes whichever shape we have figured out... like a mold on a side of a rig... probably a quarter inch wide and say a eighty of a inch in rise or lower.. matter of perspective as you turn it one way and its up and the other is obviously down. Now going much slower, sew a name or a design on something as the feet under the stamp is pulling it along just like material in a sewing machine would do, just a tad slower to have best control... tell me, can you visualize it and if you can, then you can make it... as they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words" Just out of curiosity, would you risk losing a Picasso Picture?
