WINTER 2021 FASHION TRENDS I'M HATING AND LOVING

Obviously this isn't ALL of the "winter 2021 fashion trends", but these are the ones I've either not talked about before (because a lot of the trends are just reinvented ones from previous seasons) or I just wanted to talk about! Also this is a focus on "runway trends" versus like instagram/pinterest trends! I wanted to basically talk about these trends in a way where I didn't have to buy any of them since I wasn't really into most of them so hopefully this style turned out okay and I think in the future if there are seasonal trends that I want to talk about, but don't necessarily want to thrift I may do this way instead, if it's something you all like ❤️ OH ALSO, don't listen to trends fully!! Wear whatever makes you happy!!! This is all just for fun and in most cases I just like to do for inspiration versus following every trend to a T!

Heyyy love your videos as always 💓 but want to say skirts over jeans (or other types of pants) is actually pretty trendy in Japan! You can see the style pop up in staff styling, on street etc. I think it’s really cool tho ❤️‍🔥

Onesies would be the worst for winter! My house gets really cold in certain rooms even with the heat on and it would be an absolute nightmare going to the bathroom while you’re pretty much naked on top, especially considering you would probably have to have a sweatshirt over it anyways so it would be even more difficult to get out of. Terrible trend, great video though! Also, your Christmas lights are so cute!

They completely took out the dressing rooms at my thrift store. Idk why but I walked in and they were gone…

M from India n we mostly wear kurtis which are more like a long tunic I mean google salwar suit, or kurti or woollen kurti... So the trend dress over pants is not a trend to me it's more like kurti And jeans... But still a regular dress with a denim is a HARD NO

The only time I wear or would wear a onesie is for pj's lol 😆

Hi! Very unlikely to thrift a colored leather set so this set would likely only be bought new, which, especially with leather—seriously NOT for me!! Second hand is different, but not likely to be thrifted!

if u wear a onesie I think it would look cool with a hip pack/tool belt kinda thing and some boots. reminds me of when those workerman jumpsuits were trendy in the summer

I think of onesie as cozy homewear/sleepwear. I've got a unicorn one which is super warm. I wouldn't leave the house in it lol.

Totally agree on the leather!! I don’t understand how we’re not over leather and pleather yet since both are sooo unsustainable to produce from scratch. I love thrifting leather, but can’t support the leather industry 😭

I agree with your thoughts on onsie's , but check out Naomi Boyer! She styles them all year and always looks great.

because i dress modestly, i wear dresses with leggings or jeans 😅 but personally i would never wear over the top trousers with a dress

The dresses/skirts on top of pants hurts my soul to see, that reminds me of like elementary school/middle school days when I would wear that!! Why did I do that!! 😭😭

I remember a video from alexa from some time ago that she put a puff sleeve dress on top of pants and she was like, I'm not sure of that one but that can become trendy - literally ahead of its time haha

Dresses over jeans was my JAM in 2007 when I was 21/22. I looooooved it with flares, I’ve been waiting for the trend to come back! 💜

The fashion trends lately just aren’t doing it for me. I’ve never been one to follow trends much but I do like getting inspiration on new ways to style my clothes. But the trends such as oversized, y2k, and matching sets (especially leather!) I just don’t like at all! Some people can really rock it, but I’m a very busty girl and none of these are flattering on me. If I don’t wear clothes that accentuate my curves, I look much larger than I actually am, because things tend to just tent off of my bust.

I’m loving pastels that would traditionally be considered spring colors continuing into the fall and winter. Specifically the baby pink and lavender/lilac colors. Like yes please given me the pastels!!!😩😩😩

I liked last winter/ fall's trends way better.... I agree with the denim on denim trend though very easy and doable haha I recently just got a denim jacket from kohl's that looks pretty 80s-esk so I'll probably be all over this trend haha

The whole reason I started following you to begin with is because of YOUR style and your thrift with me videos. I love that you aren't religiously following trends.

By the time a trend hits a fashion mag, it's old. I'd wear a onsie if I looked like Emma Peel, but I don't and I've never found a jumpsuit that fits either. What people actually wear is what interests me. I'm always looking for new approaches for personal style. How many ways can you wear denim on denim that are fresh and new? I'd like to see that.

Off topic but I need someone to explain to me how we can sit down in a restaurant and eat, with our mouths fully open and exposed, but we can't go into a dressing room, alone, and change our clothes?

yess so many recent trends i haven't been able to get on board with because i wore those exact things when i was a child!!

i love dresses over flare jeans!! ive done it quite a lot and get many compliments, its all about the time of jeans, dress etc.

Ain’t nobody wearing jeans or pants with a dress! I’m sure EVERYONE is in unison to not letting that happen again.

I appreciate the fact that even though you don't like certain trends, you aren't super critical about them. I'm not big on trends myself, but I always say to each their own.

I think it could be nice to see a video of you trying to dress with the colors of the seasonal palette (spring, summer, autumn, winter) so you can see which "season" you are and which palette you prefer!

I must confess, Rosé from blackpink is making me start to like the whole dress over pants thing....

Oh but I remember that I wore jeans under dresses when I went to school in the 2000s 😅 would never do it nowadays

Mixing neons was big in the mid-80s (84-87) ... neon polo shirt (collar popped, of course) with a different neon color dropped shoulder oversized sweatshirt. Worn with a tennis skirt or acid-washed jeans (tight rolled, obviously) and 2 different colors of neon socks (on each foot) that fold down so you see the inside of the first sock on the fold and the color of the outside sock on top of the foot.

Ok but the real question is why can’t we try things on in thrift stores?!

I am not a fan of leather gloves in the winter. I feel like they make you sweat on the inside of them but then you get chills so it's miserable. Onesies remind me of dance class. Onesies belong on babies LOL.

Me: ah these trends will probably be fine, just a little odd...

I live in Minnesota and my mom used to make me wear pants instead of just tights under my dresses when I was younger and I hated it. Great video.

About the dresses on top of pants trend, I don't really keep up with fashion trends because I would rather wear things I like rather than things that are trendy so I don't really keep up with whats in style. (I'm going off topic here sorry.) I see why a dress or skirt wouldn't look good on top of things like sweatpants or jeans but I think a dress or skirt would look nice with leggings. I actually wear leggings under dresses all the time (not really formal dresses but more casual dresses) and I think it looks nice! Although that is my personal opinion and I see where you are coming from. I think dresses and skits look good with pants as long as those pants aren't super crazy, baggy, or thick.

The only way I could see the "dress on pants trend" working is like flared / wide legged leggings with a dress. But not sure if that really counts as pants lol.
