How to Annotate Screen in Microsoft Teams using ZoomIt

Do you know if I can annotate if someone else is sharing their screen? I am a virtual trainer, and sometimes trainees will share their screen to the class while I walk them through. Just wondering If I could still annotate to assist, thank you!

By attaching the "StrokeIt" program to ZoomIt and configuring mouse gestures as key combinations, e.g. CTRL + 4 as Z, etc., you can control zoom, drawing ("CTRL + 2" as D), color changes (keys R, G, B, O, Y, P ) only with the mouse.

Very helpful. Made me realize my version was out-of-date. Even your version needs to be updated - there is now an option to do a Screen Record (Ctrl-5) and ScreenSnip (Ctrl-6)

I enjoy your videos and share them regularly. Can you update to cover annotation in Teams now if you are still making videos.

Have you had any problems with the cursor disappearing after exiting the tool? This happens and the only way to correct it was to shut it down.

Hi Kevin, I was wondering if you could help me with an issue I'm having with Zoomit and OBS. when I am recording my desktop or whatever page I have open with OBS and use the "live zoom" feature of Zoomit, OBS goes blank, that is to say that it records a black screen for however long I am using the "Live Zoom" feature. If I use the regular "zoom" feature from Zoomit, OBS has no problem recording the zoomed image. Also I tried using the windows magnifier feature while recording my screen with OBS and it does the same thing, it records a blank black screen . any Ideas on how to solve this conflict? thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin, I have aproblem with using ZoomIt during Team Meeting. The annotation only appear for other meeting participant if I share my whole screen (not share a window). How to resolve this?

I've successfully used a ZoomIt/Mouse combination during MSTeams. I wanted to make my annotations more precise with a ZoomIt/Wacom pen/tablet. ARGHhhh ... ZoomIt/Wacom/Teams is an incompatible solution. What product(s) may I use to increase legibility and precision while marking up Teams meeting screens?

I have been wondering how to annotate screen in MS Teams, and this video would help me a lot. However I have one question, can I annotate a screen that is being shared by other participant over the Teams meeting? Zoom allows the annotate feature within the app, I just wanted to check if ZoomIt would allow the same in MS teams meetings? OR this only allows to annotate over the screen I share myself over Teams meeting but not other participants?

Hi Kevin, Thank you so much for this video. I’ve tried the ZoomIT app and these functions are really cool. I have one important question: is it possible to use multiple functions one after other without having the previous one disappeared? For example: drawing tool and inserting rectangle tool. My problem is that after I press Esc to change from an annotation tool to another one, my previous annotation disappears though it would be more practical to keep them all. If ZoomIT does not allow it don’t you know any alternative app that does?

So you obviously can't draw on other people's screens, like Slack, right? What a huge letdown that Teams doesn't support that.

ctrl + 2 = draw
b = blue
r = red
p = pink
g = green
o = orange
y = yellow
t = text
ctrl + shift = arrow
ctrl + z = erase last entry
ctrl + scroll = size of line
e = remove anotations
space = bring tool to the middle
ctrl + left mouse = rectangle
shift + left mouse = straight line
tab + lest mouse = ellipse
ctrl + shift + left mouse = arrow
w = white sketch pad
k = black sketch pad
esc = exit
