I don't know if i will ever enjoy a game as much as this one. I am really grateful i got to experience it. Thank you for posting this.
ОтветитьThe writing here is orders of magnitude greater than any other Star Wars media. Such fantastic quality
ОтветитьIts so odd playing Kotor and noticing the parallels with Mass Effect, particularly with the krogan and the mandalorians. Listen to Canderous and hes a dead ringer for Wrex
ОтветитьThe way he delivers “how do you know that…” was sooooo goood
ОтветитьImagine a KOTOR 3 with Chris Avellone ❤️🔥
ОтветитьI remember watching this dialogue for the first time, didn't knew that Canderous was actually Mandalore The Preserver at that point, but then in the dialogue with visas after the fight with nihilus i remembered this dialogue, it was perfect, truly poetry, this is a masterpiece by obsidian, so sad that the whole narrative of the criticism of the jedi code wasn't supported by lucasarts in that time, we could've get so much more...
Ответить“And perhaps all that remains will be what I see before me: a man, wounded by a Jedi, encased in a Mandalorian shell, haunted by the thought of being the last of the Mandalorians.”
You know.
Another conversation between a witch and a soldier with a familiar ending is not so surprising
ОтветитьPound for pound the best dialogue exchange in kotor2. EVERY line in this scene is a banger
ОтветитьCanderous being worried about Kreia is very telling. Forget the “You were the bad guy all along!” twist of the first game; Kreia’s reveal as the Sith Lord was, for me, one of the BIGGEST twists in gaming, if not ever made. This game, while unfinished, is amazingly crafted.
ОтветитьAnd for some reason Kriea's words echoes still to this very day (The Madalorian Season 03)
ОтветитьShe actually gave him some good advice though. Even though the Mandalorians faded away, their honor and legacy still remained.
ОтветитьWait so if Kreia is subtly manipulating most of Meetra’s companions to keep her safe, then why does the council say that Meetra is a leader and attracts people to her? When in the context of this game, Kreia is the one practically keeping people loyal to the exile?
ОтветитьThe Golden Age of SW...
Before the dark times, before Disney!
Bruh that actress taught a lot people life lessons even while walking the line between sith and something else
ОтветитьMan, this game was so well written and ahead of it's time. This is, and remains the reason why I stayed a Star Wars fan. It's why I hold it to such high standards. These little gems are magical.
ОтветитьEver wonder what if the mandorlains won the war against the republic before the Jedi got involved.that
ОтветитьMandalore/Canderous has faced sith, jedi, the republic and has fought against the odds over and over again living for every moment of it.
But right here, he's scared.
One of my favorite clips, Obsidian elevated the same archetype Bioware use (Merc of a warrior race that is defeated and broken, Wrex/Canderous) to someone who wants to relive his glorious past and pursue his traditional purpose, instead of being disillusioned with his own people and their traditions.
ОтветитьFiloni and Disney made this propercy a reality, madalorian lore burned
ОтветитьIf anything scares the Mandalorians, you know they're bad news, whether for comfort or for discomfort.
ОтветитьFast forward to the end of Star Wars Legends and the Mandalorian were still thriving.
ОтветитьThis shows you that they are their own end. Their culture demands sacrifice and it will not rest until the culture is abandoned or dead.
ОтветитьDid Mandalore know who the Exile was? Or for sure he finds out in Act III?
I can't remember since playing
Helluva a way to ask a favor, lmao.
I love this game though
The tale of Cando is unfortunately a tragic one, it's sad to see that he, who has at the end of KOTOR realized that the old mandalorian way has major flaws and that they need to adapt in order to survive, reverted back into a stubborn war vet who still believes the old way right. Probably because Revan, who made him see the error of their past, abandoned him and without leadership, he fell back to what he knows, Cando is no leader, he's a Warrior.
Now all that is left is doing all he knows and try to fix his culture in his own way, thats why Kreia really got to him with her every word. Deep down he knows this is not the way
That one blue mandalore who watches the entire conversation.
ОтветитьKreia is a Z tier character. I've seen some bad and some really good Star Wars character but she was written a cut above the best.
ОтветитьThose two lines.
"Do you wonder where he wanders now, Mandalore? Why he gave you your orders, then abandoned you at the edge of the galaxy?"
"How do you know that?..."
Gives me goosebumps. The way Kreia says it in such a powerful, demanding, yet soft and calm tone. The way Mandalore replies back. You can tell he's scared. Not in a physical danger scared but afraid of what the witch says and knows.
Brilliant voice acting and writing for a game.
Holy hell the blue dude laying on some thick Aussie accent
ОтветитьDoes Canderous ever take his helmet off in game? I have never seen him do it when I played.
ОтветитьIt's been 10 years since I played this game and I am just now realizing that Canderous Ordo is the Mandalore. DAMN!
ОтветитьThe one thing I'm confused about is that Kreia implies that the Mandalorian served The master who abandoned them after giving orders [Revan right?] ??
The other thing is that we never see Kreia give the Mandalorian an answer either or at least on the playthrough I did?
Mandolore Rose again
Ответитьjust a side note, that ship is extremely thin
ОтветитьGod Kreia is delightfully avellonian.
ОтветитьHAS ANYONE ELSE come here after seeing the latest Season Finale of The Mandalorian??? I couldn't help but think of how Kreia's words have echoed through the Force up until the time of Din Djarin, and the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Mandalorians have historically sided with the Sith and Empire, but Din Djarin is the one who could tip the scales. Through his heroic actions, he has brought the opportunity for TRUE REDEMPTION to the Mandalorian people so that their culture and way of life can truly be preserved as they can choose a new path, one where they turn to side with the New Republic and most notably, the JEDI. This is TRUE STAR WARS, where everything comes full circle.
"It's like poetry, it rhymes." -George Lucas
Is this cannon?
ОтветитьSimilar to this fictional people, I also come from a people/tribe who suffered innumerable genocides, and I always wonder/dread will we rise again, or will we die a quiet death. Truly a disturbing thought.
Ответить100 Persuade vs This is the Way
ОтветитьBtw. Canderous ordos Voice actor of is the Same Voice actor as Solidus Snake
ОтветитьNo cap
ОтветитьHoW Do YoU kNoW tHaT
ОтветитьStatement: Of all meatbags, Kex may very well be the worst at using a hydrospanner I've ever seen.
ОтветитьCuriously Kreia says to Canderous exactly what i think we'll see in The Mandalorian, the man behind the armor looks like he's carrying a whole culture with him, remarkable for the glories of the past, but with no present or future
Ответить"How do you know that?"
Ответитьits true tho, mandalorians did die a slow death, by the time of the original trilogy they are but one or two mercenaries and no longer had the influence to mount any offensive of impact.
Ответить
