just right after I graduated from High school, my acquaintance that I knew wanted to pursue and study to become a Correctional Officer. Told me, all you do throughout your shift is sit on your lazy @$$ and get paid. I dunno if that was the case, but we were young then so hopefully now that we've matured, he probably thinks differently of it by now.

My nephew Brett works at Rikers. It’s not always easy working with inmates. But I Haven’t spoken to my nephew or my brother in many years.

Worst job in the world you can not trust the system your'e fellow officers or the inmates its a dangerous environment with all types of disease and on top of that 16 hour shifts everday and it pays very little you would make more money at fast food joint and be safer than working for a correctional facility.

Corrections and Detention is a royal pain in the ass job. It can also be dangerous not because of inmates but you also gotta worry about your own smuggling drugs in

You need to do more positive stories on our brave men and women ( and only men and women) in blue.

Everybody please take into deep consideration that you see this guard with the cameras rolling. You would feel different if you saw him without the cameras.

I'll be starting a 3 week training as a C.O 1 next week. I want to help the inmates better their lives the best I am able.
