exceptional, thanks!!! folks, i am trying the get this done for quite a while now. what was actually missing from all similar videos was the crucial detail that you have to actually release the odometer button while key is still in position two. then of course, follow the instructions. everything works well if you do. if you follow the steps and do not release the odometer button while key is still in position 2, nothing works. thanks again sir!!! added thumb up and will subscribe. you literally made my day here. PS if your car manifests weird issues, till the point of being unusable, remove the plus from the batter so computer fully resets, keep it off of at least 5-10 minutes, during which time, try to start the car while plus wire is still detached (just to make sure that all circuit is flushed properly) then put the plus wire back on and car will work just fine. this is the same on other volvo(s), this manifests after a while while driving with service maintenance required on, not before and not in general. i had other volvo cars in the past, like s80, etc. but this is an 2004 xc90, 5 cylinders, only 100,000 miles, otherwise in perfect condition. i went to the local volvo bandits (they call themselves dealer, but it's a lie) and they asked me for $1,600 to update all computer firmware bugs. i congratulated them for being a live credit to fucking capitalism and politely left.

Judging by the starter motor sound this is a 3.2
