Not sure how iron precipitation stops the filter from working? Its not gonna kill all your beneficial bacteria?

I used Nutrition Capsules on two fish tanks

and followed the steps for use

but I faced a big problem, which was the appearance of bubbles and foam on the surface of the water.

After two days, I changed the water up to 50% for both tanks...

the problem is the same, nothing has changed...

I ask you to do so. Help to understand what is happening and solve the problem..

I have had a high tech tank for over a year. I watched your videos for hours before installing the tank. and I have had a healthy aquarium that looks great to me, with no problems since day one. However, every few months I open it and watch the videos from the beginning. Green Aqua is a great quality online library. I hope I will get the chance to visit the gallery one day. stay healthy.

I’m new to Aquascaping (about 9 months or so) and it’s been up and down ride for me. One thing I realized is that; as you mentioned in the video, looking at your tank is the best way to know if all good or something’s wrong. I setup a tank with aquasoil and sand as my first tank. Plants were growing beautifully, things seemed okay. Dosing lightly here and there with ferts and it was good. Few months pass and I notice my reds aren’t as vibrant as they were so I researched and figured it out. Then I proceeded to setup 2 more tanks and similarly I noticed either a deficiency or something and would research for hours or days at some points and I tried so many different things until I figured it out. Many people get discouraged, as I did 2 years ago when I bought my first aquatic plants (they died and I gave up on live plants till 9months ago). What I did differently this time was that I watched the plants closer and as soon as I noticed different leaves or weird new growth or whatever it was, I would research till I figured it out. I’m still learning as I go but my tanks are growing beautifully now! Didn’t loose any plants since I started and have actually done so many trimmings that I was able to fully plants 3 other tanks and all are thriving. Recently I ran into another issue with algae in my co2 tank and very bad growth in another non-co2 tank and I messed with times, settings, ferts and did weeks of work and I finally got them balanced and on the right track again and realized in the end what I did wrong. It’s a big process for sure! Lots of work. The key for me was to enjoy it and don’t stress it. The results of all that hard work pays off and I sit and stare at my tanks any chance I get. I love it and I love content like this for making it easier to understand things. Thanks

Good video and my experience with Seachem wasn't great unfortunately but that was 15 years ago. I found them half as concentrated as ADA. Changed now perhaps but Excel is not something I'd use for carbon. To kill algae like BBA maybe. lol.

Gotten good results with ADA and agree with you the 'lean dosing' term is confusing. If you just follow the manufacturer's recommendation as a general point then yeah it's lean. ADA always stresses the need to add more when there's more plants. Especially the nitrates. Nitrate limiting also prevents iron absorption and pale plants as you pointed out.
This is a 3 year old video but still relevant. Stumbled on it looking to make my own potassium supplement. ✌

After adding All of those "nutritious ferts" to your water column, I'd be weary of putting my bare hands in the aquarium's water... Wake up the next morning with hairy palms!! 🧟 Buying all those Seachem Fertilizer products is anything but cheap... Your intentions of keeping a "lush green" aquascape is noted but having to go to the bank for a loan just to apply a few fancy ferts in order to grow live plants really takes the wind out of the sails - sorta speak of keeping fish in a live planted aquarium.

He keeps eluting to the idea that iron makes plants red 🤦‍♂️ This has been disproven for a while now in the hobby. And Excel as a carbon source 🤦‍♂️ Google what Gluteraldahyde does. It's just an algaeacide.

What do you typically dose for Excel as a daily supplement? Although there is no visible algae in my planted tank, using it as a preventative maintenance seems like a good idea.

that's the beauty of this hobby, the science and the challenge of balancing your ecosystem. Personally, this is the reason why I love setting up tanks...

Then when all is balance, the beauty of it is so breathtaking that I find myself staring at my tank for hours at a time.

Thx for the vid! I dont understand one thing: If you dose only what the plant needs, you should have almost no water change no? If you do big water change like 50% (more than 100L for a 120p) this is tap water: very cold (around 12° where I live) and with some chemical. Not sure is good for the living and the plant.

I know I'm 2 years late, but this is still one of the best overviews of fertilization. It may be too much for absolute beginners, but honestly I think even most relative beginners or intermediate levels would deeply benefit from this video.

The only thing made me scratch my head a bit is the perpetuation of the idea that iron helps with reds, when all of the quality evidence shows that only iron deficiencies play any role in not obtaining reds. Extra iron doesn't increase red, especially as red pigmentations like anthocyanins, betacyanins, xanthins, etc have no Fe in them.

Iron is of course vital to the process of synthesizing pigments, but typically green pigments actually have a stronger need for iron than others. My understanding is that the idea of iron increasing reds originally came from iron deficiencies in older fertilization systems that resulted in reduced plant health in general. Well, that and geology/textiles, where iron is the main source of red colorations, but we now know that's a false equivalence.

Otherwise, excellent information and I'd say, still only intermediate water, not deep
