The greatest point ever. MJ booh hooh. Stockton okay, cool. But to me Larry Bird, Isaiah, Wilt, Rodman, Dumars, unstoppable and I'm a Celtics fan.

Mr Hoops, please do a video on Isiah's defense. I'd say he was the best man to man defender pg of his Era. He never got all NBA because they're media awards and he had a bad relationship with sportswriters.

Behind Magic I think he is right there, from assist to point, field goal. Because he play in the era game was build around big man therefore a lot see him as underrate.

Isiah had it all. On top of incredible speed and athleticism, Isiah had ball handling skills, utter deadly coolness in the clutch, soaring basketball I.Q....and an incredible work ethic.
His whole career was an extreme pleasure to watch. Fans and even the media didn't like to see their heroes, Jordan, Magic, Bird, get soundly beaten, again and again.

Point Guards
Magic
Stockton
Kidd
Curry
Oscar
Then Isaiah
Westbrook
Cousy
Price
Nash

But Curry is the best Hybrid Point with Oscar second here. Followed by Isaiah and AI.

I think you’re right in the sense he is a talented we haven’t seen before and may not ever see you again. Pound for pound he may be one of the best basketball players we’ve ever seen. Surely one of the best point guards if not the best point guard we’ve seen. Stay up Zeke.

I'm from Indiana he was so good that saw him at Indiana University and won a championship. One play he stoled the and two defensive players one on one side and one on the other and he was in the middle he went to the hoop and slammed on both of them and that's when I knew that he was special.

Isiah Thomas was so good he was the first little point guard to win an NBA championship (Back to back) without a dominant big. Not even the dominant Celtics led by Larry Bird could go back to-back. The next small point who accomplished the same feat was Steph Curry in 2015. That's how good Isiah Thomas was.

I'm with Mike on this one. Second greatest point guard of all time behind Magic Johnson. His career was cut short because of his tenacity and sheer will to win. He would sacrifice ANYTHING to win, including his reputation and even his body, which eventually took a toll. Shame he was cut from The Dream Team. He's the kind of player you are going to hate if you're playing against him, but if he's on your team, you know you've got somebody who is willing to win at ALL costs.

There are most likely only 2 6'3 and under players in the history of the NBA that can legitimately say that they were CLEARLY the BEST/most valuable player on one or more championship teams: Steph Curry and Isiah Thomas.

The NBA has always been a tall man's game. So for a guy of Zeke's height to come in and end up having the type of championship level impact that he had for his franchise, speaks VOLUMES to how historically great he was.

The person that narratored this sounds foolish as hell saying Isiah is below Curry, Magic and Stockton.
1-Isiah LED his college and NBA teams to titles, something neither Curry or Stockton did
2-Isiah was the MOP of both the Regional and Final Four and was a NBA Finals MVP, a feat Magic Johnson didn't accomplish
3-Isiah was the MVP of the gold medal game in the 1979 Pan AM Games, and had yet to play a college game.
4-Isiah as a freshman was on the 1980 Olympic Team, something Stockton couldn't do as a senior in 1984.
Talent wise, take Magic's star studded roster away and lets see if he could dominate like Isiah did.

Isiah Thomas is the best point guard of all time. Period. A differential innovator in style with his physical conditions. In a league of his own along with Magic Johnson in terms of game domination from that spot. Not comparable to John Stockton, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, etc. He was flashier than Allen Iverson before Allen Iverson. He handled like Kyrie before Kyrie. He has been influential because he was way ahead of his time and he created a path for many number 11 after him.

He is not "underrated". It's simply that people who could witness the impact of his game in that era is not the main body of social media these days.

We, who watched him play before the outcome of his actions based on talent and determination, are still in awe of his accomplishments. That impact is higher than rewinding in retrospective.

His Detroit Pistons team were as physical and dirty as everybody (do we remember Malone's elbow?) but they were mentally tougher based on that phisicallity. The Pistons didn't invent the rules or the basketball culture. They used it in their own advantage in a way the other teams could not. And Thomas was the sinning light among that mud creating a combination that could not be beaten.

They deserved a Threepeat and if we consider the span from the Bird's steal where they had the series in the pocket, to the season were Isiah had the career ending surgery, we are talking about half a decade of domination in the basketball's greatest era carried on Isiah's shoulder.

He is better point guard but his jealousy so to speak compared to his contemporary made him deal to be best at expense of what truly is a basketball game.. friendly game with an essence of a warrior but a respect to how truly is to downfall someone.. he was to my opinion IS a natural point guard like Magic but no too physical harm should be done.. to be respected one should have accept it in a true warrior way.. not leaving because of pride but leaving coz you have accepted your defeat..

Isiah Thomas was the greatest point guard of his era. To call him "the second best point guard behind Magic Johnson is underrating Isiah. Isiah was was already the NBA's best point guard by 1984-85 season. Magic's NBA career started on third base. The Lakers were always the most stacked with talent in the NBA. Isiah's ascent up the NBA ladder started from the very bottom. Isiah was better better than Magic offensively and defensively.

Good video. I agree with Michael Jordan. Isiah is right behind Magic on the list of all-time great PGs. Curry played in a different era so it's hard to compare, but it's not hard to compare him to Stockton. JS was never even the best player on his own team that never won a championship. Isiah could have run up his individual numbers too, but he chose to focus on winning championships.

Sorry, but those saying Isiah was the best PG after Magic are delusional. There's a guy by the name of Oscar Robertson. There's also a guy by the name of John Stockton who was vastly superior passer, committed fewer turnovers, and was light years ahead in FG%, FT%, and 3PT%. He also made 5 all defense 2nd teams to none for Isiah.

As much as people want to believe Jordan froze out Isiah from the 92 Dream Team, the simple matter of fact is that Thomas had nothing on Stockton and there was no room for a 3rd point guard anyway.
