I only heard of her death today, her hits were my era, I'm not her biggest fan but it made me quite emotional, hearing her sing always brought a smile to my face (I feel the same about Fats Waller).
ОтветитьNot only a wonderful performer and writer but a truly inspirational individual who cared more for the music and her fans than the profits and corporate image. She was a woman of integrity. She helped me and many of my generation get through the tough late adolescent/early adult transition. RIP. Melanie
ОтветитьMelanie's first album came out in 1968.
1968's calendar matches 2024s day for day.
Thank you Melanie. Thanks for your music.
ОтветитьRest in peace great artist unique
ОтветитьLove it! Let’s stay in touch :)
ОтветитьRip beautiful soul
Ответить😧😧😧😢😭😭
ОтветитьR.I.P. sweet girl.
ОтветитьRest In Peace, Melanie Safka.
Such a beautiful woman, artist and human being!
She ranks right up there with Dylan and Harry Chapin, in my opinion.
I've been a huge fan since childhood and she will be greatly missed!
You touched my soul and lifted my spirit Melanie. Thank you !
ОтветитьLOST HER IN THE RAIN (C)2006
ОтветитьI remember she toured in Australia at the same time as Neil Diamond. They were asked if they could perform at the Moomba festival in Melbourne. Melanie said yes, Diamond said no. Diamond was later pressured to perform. They both performed for no pay. Moomba is about getting together to have fun. Melanie had it in her heart. She was special and Melbourne saw it. I was there, I am so grateful. Thankyou
ОтветитьRIP Melanie as a teen nearly wore out your record as I played it so much, as a senior now saddened by your passing.
ОтветитьFirstly. I must make a most humble apology to Melanie.
Even though I have obviously been aware of her songs on the radio.
But it has taken her Death to prompt me to watch her perform.
What I see is a very pretty innocent little girl writing & singing songs in her bedroom. Whilst actually performing in front of an audience.
A very big voice. From a very natural woman. It would appear that the years never took the sparkle from those beautiful eyes. Rip. Melanie.
And condolences to all who loved her.
She was one of my faves - had her album.
RIP 😢
Her song "Lay Down" appropriate...listened to her in high school. God bless prayers and peace to family.
ОтветитьI loved her music as a teen. "Birthday of the Sun" is incredible.
ОтветитьTotally loved her , most sexy voice on the planet
ОтветитьI love her
ОтветитьI got a brand new pair roller skates
you got a brand new key
Rest in Peace Songbird
ОтветитьWhat a total loss to her family, fans, and to the world. A unique talent, I'll miss her. Her catalogue of music will be her gift to mankind.
ОтветитьWe've lost a special sould. May rest in piece.
ОтветитьDid he say MELODY? Shame!!
ОтветитьI was at an antique shop with a five dollar bill, spent it on a Melanie CD, to this day the best purchase I've made to make any day brighter. RIP Melanie! You'll be missed, but never forgotten!
ОтветитьAlways loved her singing.
ОтветитьI'm an old man who was at Woodstock when I was 19. I didn't get to hear Melanie's set, but I remember sitting in a car with some people during a rain storm on Saturday Night, and we burned a candle inside the car while listening to the Who. Back in the day one of my favorite songs was “Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)” I still listen to the song on a regular basis. It takes me right back to my youth. Rest in Peace Melanie and thanks for the memories.
ОтветитьFunny how CBS never mentions the massive uptick in deaths after the forced jabs.
ОтветитьSoar with the angels, dear Melanie. Your fans will keep your music and memory alive forever. You were our sweet lady of music, and the beautiful moments of your blessed life are enshrined in our minds and hearts for all time. Rest In Peace, 'Dear One.' The Beautiful People will continue to light candles in the rain and ring the living bell in your honor. Praying for Leilah, Beau Jarred and Jeordie, who carry on in your name.
ОтветитьGave her a ride from the Inkwell to Red Bank in 1967
ОтветитьR.I.P. Melanie. One of the beautiful people. Forever in our hearts.
Ответить🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️you will be missed, thank you! Peace🙏🏻
ОтветитьMelanie you will be forever missed 💔
ОтветитьMelanie was my celebrity crush when I was in my teens; it's hard to believe she is gone.
ОтветитьI’m very sad about this. Will always love her music 🎶
ОтветитьRIP Melanie. I have always loved your music since 1970. Thank you for some of the greatest music that I have ever heard.
ОтветитьPut Melanie in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously. It's an unbelievable shame that she wasn't inducted in her lifetime. Such a generational icon!
Cheers\=/\=/
Loved Melanie
ОтветитьShe seemed so young still the last time I saw her (on some current media), not long ago! She still seemed like an 18-year old in her spirit and vigor. Very sad and surprising to hear she has died.
ОтветитьRIP Melanie. You will be missed. Prayers for her family. 🙏🏼
ОтветитьMelanie, you're gonna miss us
ОтветитьRip Melanie Ann Safka, you will be missed
ОтветитьJust goes to show, you never know when your number is up.
ОтветитьHer songs were iconic and uplifting
