How AEW: Fight Forever Ruined It's Own Potential (1 Year Later)

I like this game but it has to much rough first start energy. If it ever gets a sequal we'll definitely have a banger of a game.

Two ways they could've saved this game:

Pricing it better (base game for 39.99, 59.99 for deluxe including all DLC, each "season pass" presented as a character pack for 7.99, all total dlc for 29.99)

Also, not sacrificing replayablity and content for mini games and stadium stampede...

Played it first time last month... 1 and a half later I uninstalled it. Its awful

It really sucks that Owen Hart is finally (Officially) a playable character and of all the games he could be it's on this one.

Got it for free only played few matches and went bank to 2k

For me, we already had AEW Fight Forever, it was a WWF No Mercy Mod. We legit already had this game.

Then, you consider WWE Community Creations.... we already had an AEW game, in WWE 2k.

AEW releases FF and it was low tier to mid at best... They cooked themselves.

This game was one of the biggest gaming disappointments of the year for me. I chose this over 2k and was let down bad. Unlocked everything in the store and every character but Owen Hart within days and couldn’t be assed to grind for Owen. Hasn’t been a single thing to spend in game currency on since. Haven’t bothered to buy any dlc for it at all cuz it all seems waaay overpriced and selling people an arcade ladder is mad greedy.

As deep as an n64 game that looks like a ps2 game. Disgusted I paid 60 bucks for this lol

Bro… the tiniest things make this game ASS ! Like the fact that the referee takes his sweet ass time to start a pin, but you literally have challenges and story mode matches that depend on an ATLEAST DECENT reaction time from the ref.. you can’t break up moves in progress. The created wrestler wardrobe is limited af. The unnecessary/cringey/dry dialogue between characters in the story mode. The blocking doesn’t even register most times. Relentless ass beating just commences. This game coulda been so good, but it feels lazily put finished.

AEW: “Just put ANYTHING out, we have to compete with WWE!”
Devs: “Anything?”

i feel like i’d reinstall the game if i didn’t have to pay for ps plus for stadium stampede

They just don't want to compete with WWE2k to embarrass the game

Didn't play it or buy it but maybe the next one will be better

Terrible game for a terrible so called wrestling company, i thought TNA Impact the game was bad the story was good though for about 2 hours in 2 days lol

I understand your point bro but No Mercy is still better than all the wrestling games we have today, so don’t be like it’s not 1999 anymore because the AKI Engine is timeless and by far the best wrestling games period doesn’t matter if you play it now or another 50 years later. Ultra Pro Wrestling will throw Fight Forever and whatever you just said out the window when that comes out and if that flops too, then you should know that the community is very much alive and will continue making Romhacks and mods, point is the AKI ENGINE (No Mercy) is timeless

They should have added a Create a PPV mode. That was the greatest feature of No Mercy. You get endless fun with that option.

If the game developers can iron out all of the problems they had with FF and give us a much improved version for FF2, I'd be cool with that bc I'm a huge fan of the old school THQ/AKI game engine from the late 90's/early 2000's.

i played it first 2 weeks it came out and never touched it again lol creation suite or lack there of damaged the game for me so was a waste of money i sadly got the elite edition and hated myself for it

It sounds like people had ridiculous expectations instead of grounding then in realism. Why would you expect gm mode, story creator, and other 2k features on a gane marketed as similar to no mercy. Which is what A LOT of people were asking for.
Im not saying its perfect at all. But if anyone expected an alternative but similar to 2k, that was dumb. This pretty much met my expectations. I have fun with it and still occasionally play it AND i understand that it is quite lacking in a few areas.

I think graphics are VERY important to a lot of people. You will see memes of people complaining about the graphics in games that look 10x better than Fight Forever. TBH AEW cut their potential audience in half with the visual style they went with

Fight Forever gets too much hate because if you think it's bad then you haven't played enough wrestling games. If you haven't played WWE 2K Battlegrounds or WWE WrestleMania 21 then you don't know what a bad wrestling game is I'm sorry. Fight Forever is not a bad game at all, it was just overhyped as the next coming of No Mercy and you're disappointed that it's not that. Yes, Fight Forever lacks content, but that doesn't make it a bad wrestling game at all.
