back when 4chan was spawning Anon, i was so tertiarily aware of it online that i just thought of them as a 'random vaguely itchy disease' like athlete's foot. then suddenly, to me nearly overnight, it became a 'boogeyman' the mainstream media on TV was touting and over-covering as 'the next big threat to peace and security' to scare the population and make them tune in more often to sell advertising. when in reality, they were just a bunch of folks having a lark. therefore, BECAUSE of the mainstream media and Scientology's actions, it turned this 'fungus' into a kind of impetus towards doing 'something IRL' and not just having fun at the cult of alien worship's expense.

How SC operates was already blatantly visible with the process and way of handling things surrounding the Fishman affidavit (from 1993 !!). Apparently evenmore visible cases were needed for the public to see how bad SC really is. Allowing a church tax benefits but ALSO allowing it to operate as a business makes things a lot worse IMHO!

I have a lot of respect for Anonymous. Regardless of its origins or whatever “internal” conflict’s it may (or may not) have had, for a non-profit group, it’s done a lot more than most. They also find out and call out many people, problems and situations NO ONE else can or will.
