This is pretty theologically inept, and verges on ego-centric platitudes. No one can “redeem themselves”; in the very world view that introduces the notion of redemption, CHRIST is the only redeemer! We could not do it by the law, we could not do it by sacrifice, we could not do it by good intentions, if you want to use the term “redemption” perhaps you should more carefully familiarize yourself with who The Redeemer is. Otherwise, if this is a secular pull yourself up by your bootstraps sort of message, it does present some merit and certainly something that the majority of our society needs to hear.
