Stepsister who canceled OP’s wedding venue: the father is NOT blameless here. His daughter committed a crime and cost OP money, but he insisted that OP not involve the police. He deserves some of the blame here because of his horrid parenting. Just where do you think this stepsister got the idea that she could harm OP with impunity?

If he was a decent father, SHE (his daughter) would be paying for the difference in price of the wedding venue. She will never learn proper behavior if she never suffers the consequences of her criminal acts. He can expect to need to post her bail in the future. I hope he isn’t foolish enough to borrow against his house to spring her from jail.

Title story. The SIL is a complete failure of a human being. She was told beforehand NOT to mention anything about her pregnancy to anyone. The first time she opened her mouth when they got to the church should have been when she was told to get the F out, not to try to come back in, and not to go to the gathering after the service. If the brother objected, he should have been booted with her. Her words and actions were loathsome and vile.

To all of this hideous excuse for a woman's relatives that were blowing up OP's phone saying, 'how could she make a pregnant woman cry', OP should have responded with 'that's what happens when you make a grieving mother and widow who just lost her husband and two of her three kids cry'. Then she should have told them what failures they were as a decent family and then blocked them all.

I'm sitting here shaking my head at the utter lack of humanity and decency that is the SIL. I pity her poor child and hope he or she is doing well despite the piece of dung that is their mother. I wish peace to the OP and their family.

The last story. Yes i agree the constant practicing would piss me off as we. But, op had let her sister stay for free. There are a million ways ops sister could have gone about this. Instead she rudly moves ops piano to the one place that could cause it damage! If ops sister had such an issue with the practicing. She could have moved out, maybe ask if her sister could let her know the practice times, if op has a schedule. That way she could find ways to avoid op at those times. Or she could even wear headphones, to block it out.
I personally like being in a quiet space. But u can't always have that unfortunately. But op was amazing in letting her sister stay with them for free. Its like ops sister just spat at that gerosity.
