I don’t think you’re supposed to cut them to begin with, edges are the awkward little hairs that are already there I have a bunch of them that never grow a full hair length.

I always cut off my baby hairs and hate them normally. I should just do this instead, it's so cute

This is soooo nasty. Doesn't look good, at all. Just looks dirty and slicked to your head with grease. Why anyone would want to do this is just beyond. I can see why the fascination with wigs. What you DON'T see though, is white women coming for coloured women over it. If a white bish braids her hair you better watch out, there's a whole army of hate, entitlement and double standards coming your way...
