This is a fun, opinionated piece I’ve been cooking up for a while :) It is by no means intended to insult your choices! I just want to provoke some thought haha. My opinions are my own and I am by no means right about everything here. Let me know what you think! Would love to hear what you agree with and what you don’t.

I care less about the specific hardware in phone nowadays and more about the ecosystem. I want all my devices, and my smarthome, to be perfectly in sync and to "just work" whenever I go to do something that I think should work. And with Apple it does "just work".

why change it if it's perfect, nowadays you can tell which phone is samsung, which is iphone, which is google pixel, what design you want people ? there is nothing to create

I've been a lifelong android user, who briefly switched to iOS with the iPhone 5 a while back.

I have to say that at this point, the Apple v Android debate is stale and played out for many reasons. Mainly because a fair comparison cant be made between the 2, why?

1. Apple controls the hardware and software to a T. Hence why their devices last longer and have little to no variety and variation. They do the same across their product offerings and out of the box you get a cohesive experience that leaves little to be desired.
2. Android is an operating system licensed by Google to various OEM's that have their own vision of what they think the Android experience should be. That's why there is so much variety and you decide what flavor of android you like based on that. You can have feature packed Android from Samsung or barebones vanilla Android from Google Pixel.

These 2 points (which are essentially 1 point) I just mentioned are fundamentally why it's dumb to engage in this debate and think you're being intellectually honest.

Apple even though their products might cost a pretty penny, comes with everything out of the box, hence why they are suitable for the everyman who has coin to spare. Android devices are suitable for every budget and taste profile. But essentially you get a similar experience in any case. There was a time where one could say one is objectively better than the other once upon a time, but now isn't that time.

I don’t get it aesthetically wise IPhone are better then any other phone, people might argue with the notch or dynamic island but other than that, why do people complain IPhone design is basic if it’s literally the best, the color feels premium, the back is gorgeous, every year the bazzels are getting thinner and it’s much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I think Apple supporting their devices is what is sustaining them long-term. No one wants to shell out hundreds and hundreds of dollars only for their product to go out of commission due to lack of software support. I used to be a hard-core android user and in 2018, I jump ship, mainly because I have an iPad and I enjoyed my iPad. No doubt the iPad is a far superior product than any tablet. So just naturally, it was easy to transition to an iPhone, especially knowing that all the popular apps work on both iOS and android.

Studies show that apple users are the happiest with their products. I think it’s true 😂

iPhone users are typically individuals with a much higher IQ and are very career driven whereas their Android counterparts are individuals that typically have been arrested or are considering some type of violent crime. Most actors, CEO's and celebrities have iPhones and there is a reason for this. The grass is always greener over here at Apple. The food tastes better, the air smells nicer, the people are more diverse and lovely. Some of you need to be saved and it's okay, you'll come around soon enough!

Ive always had iphone and apple products, but i switched to the 22 ultra this year because my iphone just got really boring to me. Its the same thing every year without giving us as many features as android. I feel like you have to be open minded and curious to a certain degree to make the full switch. I dont regret it at all, im a full fleshed android guy now

I think the software support discrepancy is a bit misleading. In practice I don't know of anyone whose iPhone has stayed in tact for 6 years, or even 5, and with the Pixel or Galaxy you're really getting more like 4 years of OS updates because it stays current for that 4th year, then of course getting patches for another year. Not to mention the difference of Android/iOS updates in general

Disagree. Keyboard on iPhone 14 pro is absolutely awful compared to android counterparts. iPhone's back button on top is a deal breaker compared to android's the bottom. I find iPhone too heavy and not ergonomic, is design above practicality. And iPhone's camera sucks, period. Better to update phone every three years than keep the iPhone just for laziness.

None of anything he is saying is based in any measurable metric. It's all opinion framed as informed decision so it makes him sound like a pretentious fool.... Which he clearly is.

Nobody liked my 14 Pro so I went back to Pixel. Nobody = me lol. You do you, I ❤ Pixel. Only thing I'll give you is Face Unlock. The FP sensor on 6 and 7 is trash and the only reason I tried the 14 Pro for 2 months but even the trash sensor isnt enough to convert me to iOS. There is nothing "human" about it, the UI is much worse than the Pixel experience

For everyone who uses android and havent actually sat back and used ios without being biased (and definitely vice versa) i just have to say this. Why on god's green earth do you think android is so much more intricate than ios when ios comes out with features people actually care about? man there are far too many biased people in these comments android over all is a powerhouse but that makes it overkill no one here actually uses that much of androids customization without it getting supper buggy. I have a google pixel 6a and an iphone 13 in all honesty it really depends on what you care most about. iphone is just smoother and consistent where ass adroid devices aren't as stable as far as features and software but androids powerful internals allow for endless possibilities for innovation. its like the PlayStation and xbox debate xbox is generally more powerful than playstation in most aspects but lack in stability and consistency and developers dont really take feedback too well but that doesnt mean xbox is garbage (in my opinion) I will always keep an xbox product with me simply because its fun and can honestly give playstation serious competition if they just did things a little better, Playstation on the other hand has much better support and overall better quality when it comes to software and features but there's a problem with playstation THEY ONLY CATER TO ONE CROWD AND ARENT AS DIVERS WITH THEIR SOFTWARE. That being said Playstation is my main system of choice and makes games much more enjoyable whereas xbox has something for everyone sort of. And cue the backlash from this comment in 3...2...1! ALOS for those who arent in the US lets not pretend as if you all dont try to speak globally for preference seeing how many of you are rightfully upset at how many americans think their opinion speaks for all, with that being said dont go around saying android is better and everyone in your country uses it because its better, if anything its costs and availability. I also don't understand why android users (some) think theyre beyond smarter than apple users when most tech savvy people gravitate towards both for tailored usage theres a big reason why apple is still big and its not because of peer pressure thats just the most supercilious excuse ive seen in my life no one is gonna drop that much for an iphone because of that.
