Firefox vs. Chrome: I’m DUMPING Chrome?

If all someone looks at is statistics and benchmarks, then Chrome seems like the obvious choice. Tragedy, because it shouldn't be decided on that. So you wait an extra second or two for Firefox to get to the same point perhaps ... but I'll be damned if I ever sell the contents of my brains to another mega corp. I use Librewolf in relaxed setup. That's Firefox, somewhat enhanced. And I am grateful this exists. The Adblock will work forever. Even on YT. No non grata cookies or tracking to kingdom come. This is my life, my computer, and I decide what I watch, and how.

I feel Chromium-based browsers are becoming the next "Internet Explorer". With such a market share difference, developers tend to "forget" testing websites in Firefox and focus only on Chromium. History repeats itself 🙄

The more people jump back on the Firefox train, the faster the browser will improve, creating a feedback loop. Dump all Chromium based browsers if you want to oppose Google's anti-privacy campaign.

I moved away from Firefox because they keep forcing new features. After each update, I'd need to search which flag to turn on to disable new features I don't want (e.g. drastically increased padding so bookmarks menu can only show half as much items). Then after a few more updates said flag got removed so I have to find another workaround again. Extremely tired of that kind of shit. Chrome does that too, but Firefox does that 10x more often.

Just use Brave, advantages of Chromium with none of the Google annoyances

I recommend the Arc browser, it's a relatively new browser and it's doing a lot

Any chrome gurus out there? I just upgraded my system ram from 16 to 64gb before I could have about 8 tabs open before I started having browser and system issues now it's about 20tabs. Is it worth upgrading a again to try to get 4or 5 more?

You shouldn't be using either of these browsers. Chrome has been replaced by Arc and Brave, Firefox has been replaced by LibreWolf.
