If you travel a lot for business, I can’t recommend the Hilton aspire card enough.
ОтветитьI would be very careful with AMEX cards. They are horrible when it comes to merchant disputes. They will always side with the merchants and deny you disputes.
ОтветитьI think the blue cash back everyday card is a perfect card on the American Express cards the others are bs
ОтветитьI have the everyday, but I think there’s several great cards depending on how your spending is focused
ОтветитьThe platinum has gotten a lot better over the years. When I was first looking at Amex cards 8 or so years the platinum was flat 1 point per dollar on everything. Where the gold card was similar to what it is now but it was 3x not 4. Of their cards right now I would say the best on is cash preferred as it is essentially what the gold card used to be. Yes it has annual fee but you can easily cover the fee with the rewards.
ОтветитьNot everywhere takes amex is the problem
ОтветитьThe Everyday Preferred is a silent killer that doesn’t get talked about enough.
Ответитьis the green card also gonna rack reward points for dine in like the gold one or just take out ? debating between the two, i can see why some people will hate on the green and prefer the gold
ОтветитьGreat video. It really comes down to this. If you are a hardcore business traveler and you spend a lot of time in airports, the $695 you pay for Platinum is worth it for your comfort and convenience. Between the free food and drink, the quiet resting area, and the occasional shower, it is an absolute no brainer. (In the same category as spending a lot on an expensive pair of noise cancelling headphones.) If you do a little travel, but can pay for most of your living expenses with Amex, the Gold Card is a total no-brainer. The points accumulate rapidly and you achieve breakeven with the annual fee very quickly. I had one for about 15 years and I never had a year when I didn't earn more than the annual fee cost. If you don't travel much, then the Blue Cash card is the only choice. No annual fee and solid point structure. A few months into the pandemic I knew I wouldn't travel enough to make my Gold Card worthwhile, so I downgraded to Blue Cash. It worked out better than I ever imagined. On top of that, the monthly balance payment helps keep your credit rating very high. (My FICO is always in the 800s and has reached 850 often.) Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьI got approved for 25k which I felt was more than I needed. What determines the amount approved? just credit score?
ОтветитьI have the blue everyday card and it’s awesome. I use it like I would a debit card and essentially get a 3% discount on gas and groceries. It’s a no brainer and I recommend it to anyone. It’s simple and financially smart if you use it responsibly.
Ответитьso the blue card have no an fee or nun
ОтветитьJust got approved for the Blue and they were generous on the limit! Thanks for the great informative videos Adam!
Ответитьdo you have to pay in full every month?
ОтветитьFunny, about an hour ago I was on AMEX's website and was considering their offer to upgrade my everyday blue to preferred blue, not a new number, same number with a new name. Looking at my use case, I did believe that I might be able to save enough to pay the annual $95. I avoid most subscription cards with the exception of Sams Club Plus which does easily pay for itself.
ОтветитьHow come walmart and target are not part of the "U.S. supermarkets category " ?
ОтветитьOnly Travel once a year, but if I travel more, I would get me the platinum credit card and take advantage of every type of benefit it offers
ОтветитьI have the gold card and I can use both credits. Since I live in the city
ОтветитьHello I would like to sit here and cancel American Express credit card
ОтветитьDo these cards have a credit limit cause I always thought otherwise
ОтветитьI WANT THE BLUE CASH EVERYDAY SO F BAD BUT I AM STILL NEW TO CREDIT
ОтветитьThe Amex Everyday card is a pretty crappy card as far as points earnings go but it's in the membership rewards points ecosystem. It has no annual fee. You can view it as a sort of "downgrade path" from the higher annual fee cards where if you already have this card, you can cancel your platinum or whatever and not lose your points assuming all you had was the platinum and this card.
ОтветитьAmex Preferred!
ОтветитьLooking to get my first American Express card, not sure what to get.
ОтветитьThis is ironic. I upgraded my Cash Magnet (lowest ranked) to the Blue Cash Everyday (highest ranked) card today!
ОтветитьJomez Pro music?
ОтветитьThank's for the breakdown in this video. I'm not familiar with how the American Express Cards work as compared to other credit cards such as the Apple Card, Chase, etc...I got pre-approved for various Amex cards, but they don't show the spending limit amount in the pre-approval. That makes me hesitant to follow thru applying for the card.
ОтветитьI had the BCE and Everyday. I wasn't impressed with either compared to other cards in my wallet. The app and website are nice though.
Ответить19 and got 6 cards and just got my first Amex card and I still don’t have a good credit score but working on it
ОтветитьGreat video. Great breakdowns with clear graphics and thorough explanations. Thank you!
ОтветитьThe green card was wonderful when I took a Commuter train and subway everyday to my Downtown Chicago office and went out to eat for lunch. It is definitely not as beneficial as home owner in the suburbs.
ОтветитьOne feature of the Amex line I’d like to see you cover is something I use almost daily. The split/ send feature with Venmo or PayPal. The ability to split a charge and have the others persons money go back directly to the card is HUGE. No more “extra” cash in my checking that gets spent elsewhere. This really keeps my balance at bay for dinners with friends etc.
ОтветитьAmerican Express' customer service is terrible if you have an issue.
ОтветитьGreat rundown on the Amex cards! Now I know with absolute certainty, without any doubt that none of these cards would provide any practical rewards benefits to my current credit card lineup.
ОтветитьThe Blue Cash Preferred is a no brainer for us for the 6% back on groceries and streaming, and 3% back on commuter transit. We don’t use it for anything else. However, I mainly say that because of the $7/month credit for the Disney Bundle, which on top of the 6% back for Disney Bundle charges ends up completely covering the annual fee. If we ever lose that deal, the card would become a lot worse.
ОтветитьSo what you’re saying is the Centurion Card is the best card? Or the worst card? 🤔
ОтветитьI haven't found an Amex card in this video that interests me or gives me more value than the cards I have now or have on my list to get. A business card maybe, but they are not in the video, so I'm not counting it. All of the cards in the video are overrated, and in need of a refresh to try and get me to apply. I do like the feature of telling me yea or nay on approvals.
ОтветитьI have an Amex Evereyday Preferred. To get to the 30 in a billing cycle I just split the transaction. So if I am at the store and I buy 10 items. I will split it into 4 transactions. Between groceries and gas, I get to 30 transactions in 10 to 15 days into the billing cycle then I switch groceries onto the gold card. That way I get an average of 4.2 points per dollar. I think that is pretty good.
ОтветитьI dusted off my Amex Everyday card because they offered me 40k MR points with only 2k spend in the first 3 months to upgrade to the Amex Everyday Preferred. I'll do that all day. After a year, let's see if they offer me a retention offer. 15k MR and I'll keep it to earn MR for groceries
ОтветитьThe gold card is the best right now. Food is super expensive. Easy points.
ОтветитьI have a “Blue from American Express”. It’s an older card that earns membership rewards and has no annual fees. They don’t offer it anymore and honestly I don’t know what the earnings rates are. I am wondering if there is a better card for me. Do you have a suggestion?
Ответить🎉
ОтветитьI have an American Express, and noticed it's not good for online purchases. It's great for in person purchases only. I use my capital one for that. American Express cards in my opinion are okay but not great
ОтветитьPersonal Gold is well worth it for me. Paired with a Delta Credit Card (15% discount on points), I am earning minimum of 5.2% on restaurants and groceries.
ОтветитьThe 6% on streaming is what seals the deal for me on BCP vs BCE if I was to choose one or the other. That being said I may look into the BCE down the line for the online 3% category.
ОтветитьI only have the no fee EveryDay card as a safety net for my points should I cancel my Green card when the annual fee is due and I don't want to pay the annual fee anymore. I would only upgrade to the EveryDay Preferred if I get a good upgrade offer and then downgrade after a year. I have the Cash Magnet to get into the Cash Back side on Amex and might want to upgrade to the Blue Cash Everyday should I an reasonable upgrade offer after 6/17/2023.
ОтветитьThanks Adam!!! Great content as always….Amex is leading the way!
ОтветитьMy question is if i upgrade to another card will i have to pay annual fee per card?
ОтветитьAmex Everyday card is the only no-annual fee card that can save MR points. If you wanna close your Amex MR cards that have annual fees (Platinum, Gold, Green) but don't wanna lose your MR points so you can use your MR points in future, this is a good card to keep.
