Set the ohm to 200 and test 85 and 86 done. Good =150-50 bad outside of that

0.2 ohms good. Bad = ? Ohms

Do I need to disconnect the cars battery before taking the relay out?

What if my scooter relay shows one way 180 ohms and other way 60 to 80 ohms?

And... relays can get stuck, and a couple of them on/off cycles with the 9v battery you just did would reset it. Nice vid.

I find with them green and blue relays on bmws if you just take off the cover you will see if the contacts are OK or not they normally leave a black burn mark on the inside of the cover but I must say the 9 volt battery is a great idea 👍

Will that make a BMW reliable?

If you use two batteries one activate the relay the other across the power terminals with your amp meter in series will show about 3 to 4 amps with good relay contacts

To test the 9v battery lick the terminals 😅

I use my 12 v car battery. I had some spare cables and tap it with electrical tape. Made some clicks, gotta find my voltmeter. Cooling fans are not turning engine feels hot on idle even the gauge shows normal temperature, if I go drive around and come back the fans kick in but at high speed. Seems at low speed mode won't turn on.

I've changed thermostat, radiator, water pump and coolant temperature sensor.🤷‍♂️. I disconnected the coolant temperature sensor fans turn on at high speed. Then on the fuse box I did override/jumper wire fans turn on, low speed and hi speed.

The only thing i can think off is ECM 🤷‍♂️. Any suggestions what else can it be?

Is an 2006 impala LT V6 3.5L VIN: K model.

If my relay says 12V I'm guessing the 9V trick wont work?

I'm guessing I'm the only person in the world that doesn't have the markings on the side of the relay to tell you which is which 🤦🏻‍♂️

After watching this i started using 9v battery's to active solenoids on hydraulic control valves. I've even stacked them in series to active a 24v starter on large diesel engine to do valve adjustments. Works awesome. Nice little trick 👌

That would be a good quick test but certainly would not be able to determine if the relay contacts can handle the load which is something that I often run into.
