Those tyres aint that bad, talk about over egging it, your going slow over dry terrain. Those chaap tyres would be fine . Its only when pushing on your going to notice a big difference or maybe not. We see videos from this chanel of xc tyres on enduro bikes and being pretty good

I still can't understand why you don't ever include a 'good value' option there as well. It's always absolute amazon garbage or an $80 tire, nothing in between. "we test budget vs premium brakes", and you put some hope tech 4 v4's against some random zoom 2 piston e-scooter brakes. Why don't you put a Deore in there?

I genuinely can't get it. At least put some of that as a commentary at the end of the video, like, "hey, if you're on a budget you could get a wire maxxis minions and they'll be decent for this and like $30 each", but no, I guess you all won't do that.

I think I would be ok with cheap tires on my cruiser bicycle being I don't do anything to crazy with my bike plus I don't think my cruiser bicycle might not be able to handle mountain biking it is a low cost bike from Walmart or target

Most good tyres are a bit expensive, you can go as low as 40 dollars or euros, sometimes less for DH tires with super sticky rubber, which you would wear out after a few rides, so generally it´s not worth buying cheap tyres, either you get horrible carcasses and rubber, inconsistent tread pattern, or faulty products, it´s best to spend between 40 and 80 dollars/euros and get something nice, any brand will do honestly, these days technology has improved so much, personally i have tried many brands, with Continental and WTB being my favs, Maxxis, Schwalbe, Michelin are also top notch as long as you only use the DHF on the rear (washes out on the front) and I run tubes with tough casings and tyre inserts, never gotten a puncture, even without inserts, that is just personal preference. I learned that rubber only really makes a difference when it comes to wet roots and rock slides, so I would prioritize tread pattern and sidewall stability over that, hence why I like WTB vigilantes so much, they last longer than Maxxis and offer similar grip at a reasonable price. I ride Enduro/ downhill trails with loose conditions all year round and rocky and muddy are there too. Hope this helps

Vee Rubber tires are extremely cheap and surprisingly good, I have a set of attack gravity core and they are sticking at every temperature wet of dry. Better than most big brands I've tried in my local conditions...

Now that is crazy odd. I have gotten 26 inch fincchi mtb tires. Same models as those, even same exact treat pattern. They feel squidgy and kind of like super thick balloons. They feel really nice to ride on. But I ride mix of asphalt and light trails. I am soo worried about punctures with them. -.-
Really in depth in this video.

As always, gmbn does a poor job when it comes to comparing their sponsors with the competition. Yes, 17$ tire may be bad, but maybe if you added 5$ extra, or 10$ extra you'd get a tubeless compatible tire that is at least the same size. You guys come off as shills.

Where is Blake and doddy? I think this comparison could have been a lot more stark if the side knobs were ever used in the trail comparison. The rider did not corner the bike hard and went offline lots on a mellow trail. I have watched gmbn for years and love the high quality content and I think the riding needs to match the enduro nature of the tire. Still a good video but would love to see it re done with Blake or doddy who are way more aggressive and pushing the limit of the tire.

I run Schwabe Big Betty on the rear and Magic Mary on the front. I used to run Maxxis and one day I decided to change. Quite happy with my Schwalbe and probably not go back to Maxxis for a while. Mid-price tyres like £30-£50 aren't too bad. But yeah a decent name brand is always a good choice.

There is no sense in comparing good trail tires to the cheapest thing on Amazon. Maybe a comparison between vittoria/maxxis/specialized/wtb/bontrager? That would be far more helpful

I'd rather go with a name brand. Don't care too much which brand, just make sure you don't pay MSRP.
Usually there are sales that give up to 50% on MSRP, so the difference between a name brand an a cheap chinese brand doesn't justify choosing the latter.

Look I love you guys and I understand that sponsors are needed to run the channel however, it would be really nice if you guys could test some of the actual affordable mountain bike tires made by companies who are trying to give a better price point. Of course the hundred-dollar tire is going to be better than the $17 Tire we know that Victoria and Maxxis make great tires but what about the other brands out there trying to make affordable tires? Is a tire that is half the price half as good? are there scenarios in which saving that money there could help some people spend more time on the trail?
