Made in Abyss: Sub vs Dub - Maaa

The US version is a good try, but the dub always tends to change the character's personality a lot. I'll always take the original source as what it really is and any dub as a type of tribute.

Maa sounds like a demon in English but it fits our first impression of her lol

I kinda like Maaa's more guttural voice in the dub, she sounds more like a cutesy creature than just a person saying "maaa".

Why even dub Maaa?

... why didn't they save money and use the same voice actor considering neither role actually spoke any real language lol

Sub is better here. In this case, the syllables Ma just doesn't right as a standalone.

I personally think both versions are excellent, the Japanese version very cute. The American dubbing version has a monster voice in the cuteness, which is closer to the feeling of abyss creatures. Both are very good.

.....hmmm, It's hard to choose which one is better. They both sound cute enough.
