FAST Acronym is helpful: Focus on impact, Articulate principles, Speak on their values and Transcend to equanimity
Ответитьthanks you for sharing. 🌻
Ответитьlike the advice to focus on impact, rather than impression. I've been doing the latter for too long. It brings anxiety before the meeting and a storm in your mind afterwards, because you constantly ask yourself: 'Was I good enough?' but you can't give yourself the answer. What a vicious circly. Thank you, Dr. Grace Lee
ОтветитьDoes this work if you're a teacher communicating with your principal?
ОтветитьI spoke up and told my manager she likes to talk a lot in meetings but adds no value. I was written up 😄
ОтветитьI am an individual that is making a career change and has been given an opportunity to be part of a startup company alongside very seasoned individuals in the cybersecurity career field, and eventually if I do well enough I will be given an equity stake. It's a lot to take on for the obvious reasons, a lot of which you were able to touch on in this video, because I know that my ability to communicate with decision makers will be crucial to my success and to the company. I'm lucky to be receiving mentorship and support but I just wanted to THANK YOU SO MUCH for making these videos. Full disclosure, I am watching every single one! Thank you for sharing your valuable insights and advice, it is a blessing for people like me who are pushing to go to the next level.
ОтветитьThanks for the video really insightful. I’ve changed the acronym for ease of reference to EPIC. Ethos Principles Impact and Composure. Hope you like it.
Ответить❤ Very effective speech indeed!
ОтветитьNice video
ОтветитьTheir values : elaborate more?
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьThanks Dr. Grace, once again this topic is really close to me. I imagine only to follow focus on impact has already made significant improvement..
ОтветитьThis helps me a lot. Thank you!
I'm really quiet, and I don't speak much with my clients, probably because I'm afraid that I may not be able to explain myself well, since English is my second language, and I lack confidence to speak to them.
Not fear, hopelessness.
People who have staked their career on executive summaries, protecting their salaries and participation trophies with execuspeak, are vanishingly rarely willing to learn.
What if the values of the leadership does not align with those of mine? Does it means it is the end of my corporate road for this organization and gotta look for another one that shares similar values?
ОтветитьFocus on the impact is ❤❤❤
ОтветитьGood dr ❤
ОтветитьFocus in impact not to impress
ОтветитьWhat do those principles looks like..can you please give examples
ОтветитьWhat do u mean by principle…
Ответитьcan you explain more about principle? what does that mean?
ОтветитьI like your FAST much, thanks a lot Dr. Lee
ОтветитьF.A.S.T. I appreciate the clarity of each stage. And equanimity and self-governance are the big take away. They speak of a developed sense of confidence, for work that has been done in advance. The sense of fair exchange also speaks of mutual respect and peer communication rather than an hierarchical relationship.
ОтветитьYour videos are fantastic!!! Thank you so much ❤
ОтветитьTaking notes here. Watching again and again
Got an welcome meeting with new team on Monday April 17, 2023 😅 9:30AM EST oh my god. That video is so powerfull Thanks
What is the best way to identify the values of higher-ups?
ОтветитьFocus to impact is an eye opener for me. Majority will think of delivering the content and check how best the audience impressed.
ОтветитьEmphasis on communicating principles rather than processes. Still curious about the concept of communating principles
ОтветитьIt would be great to have an example of what is a principle, what is not a principle? I understand the definition of a principle, but translating the definition to see what are MY principles for what I do, I feel a disconnect to being able to see that. Maybe a story example would help?
ОтветитьThe advice on articulating principles instead of methodology is an eye opener for me, especially coming from a technical background.
ОтветитьThis is deep - good stuff!
ОтветитьBullet #4 is genius and 99.9 percent of people seeking a higher level of opportunity do not think like this “out of the box “. I will add when you put yourself in position to be discoverable bring your knowledge and insight 😊
ОтветитьAwesome, resonates with us
ОтветитьThank you Dr. Grace.❤
ОтветитьThis was EYE OPENING! This just blessed my whole life, I have struggled with this ao much that i dread being asked to present. NEVER again!
ОтветитьI would like to learn how to have a calm mind and composed state of being when speaking to higher ups. Thank you.
ОтветитьThank you for your great advice!
