Cubase 10 Tutorial: Sampling with Groove Agent

Hello Friend, how are you? I hope all is well, my name is Antonio and I am writing to you because I would like to ask you something, I have updated Cubase 12 and since the SAMPLER section seems great to me, I would like to ask you, if I import music directly from original CDs to Cubase, quality of audio would be lost. the files if it is in wav? Is ripping cubase good? Or is it better to rip the CDs with a dedicated application? I would like to transfer original songs from CDs that I have to Cubase, to use them as references, and also to sample and I need it to be with the same quality and not lose quality when transferring it from CD to Cubase

In 2021 you can do much better job with the really powerful sampler that comes with Cubase 11!!!

Great! Curious to know what you meant by select ‘Event’ and then after that you hit B and N? I get the select event part but isn’t B/N to move to start and end of event? Thx

If you recorded this, can each pad/sample record onto its own tracks? Can you assign velocity to your midi pad if you were to record drum samples? Thanks man, very informative video!

Hi, in groove agent how do i get samples to cut off when you hit the next sample ie if you are tapping in a 16 colsed hat on the external keyboard and you have an open hat on the next key, i want the open hat sample to cut off as soon as the closed hat is hit. used to be able to do this in older vertions of Cubase, i think its something to do with maybe a cross fade?

haha yeah! this is so much fun. I remember doing this with a radio news program a looooooong time ago with two cassette tape recorders and longer segments. The segments were an update on Wimbledon Tennis, some banks involved in illegal activity, parts of the weather forecast and a south american dictator who screwed up something and a few more cut up in proper main clauses and subordinate clauses and then spiced together again. Man, is it more convenient now or what? My version kind of started out normally but when stuff started to repeat and on top of that out of order people were rolling on the floor!!! Then I forgot all about it. Hmm ... maybe I should have done more? Yeah, I have to do that again ... but in Cubase instead. Thanks for "reminding" me.

Wow! I knew you could do some of that with GA4 but I had no idea you could do any of that with Groove Agent SE..Too funny and looks like a lot of fun..

speech samples were an excellent way to illustrate some of the capabilities of groove agent sampling, and watching you play the pads at the end was fun!
