Thank you Dr Strong, love your lectures and great explanations! As an anesthesiology resident I’d like to add a few points.
Metoprolol, Esmolol, Labetalol - are always stocked in OR and are our go-to meds for tachycardia and hypertension respectively. We need action quick, ideally instantly so they work rather well in our setting. And yes, Labetalol is used in obstetrics as safe for the fetus antihypertensive.
Propranolol - PO med also used for stage fright as well as heart rate and other symptoms controller of hyperthyroidism.

Thank you! I was wandering about the use of bisoprolol, isn't it one of the first line beta blockers employed in the treatment of angina and heart failure?

Eric, Thank you so much for making these videos. I have shared this video multiple times, as I consider it to be high yield. Understanding this video has helped me to understand GCP receptors, PKA, phosphorylation, Ca effect on myocardium, intercellular pathways, and more. Thank you for your service to the medical community! It is helping more people than you realize.
