How would I go about adopting an animal

I would love to adopt one of your snakes but I can barely take care of myself let alone another living breathing animal plus if I tried to bring home a snake I would not have enough room for it😢

I love the “gives judgmental looks” part of that but then again don’t all leopard geckos give you judgmental looks

275 animals surrendered to you and only two died you gotta give yourself credit cause that’s a great record that really does show that you care for these animals and I have to applaud that

So this yellow fungus in bearded dragons is almost like a cancer even though it’s considered a fungus?

It also is unfortunate that the bearded dragons with yellow fungus have to be humanely euthanized but you can’t save every animal, some of them are either too far gone or have issues that are very very hard to treat and while it is sad you have to realize how you can save far more animals And it stops them from being in pain

After bingewatching your channel...maybe I dont dislike snakes after all. I cant believe I want to learn more. My husband might be shocked if I ask for a snake!

DANG that’s a mean review. I don’t blame you for needing a picture. One way they could solve that problem, buy and enclosure there so that way you have actual proof. Honestly, I’d do that. If you don’t have a pic, just buy one there. 😅 🤔

i'm sure you already know this but i felt like pointing it out, lots of snakes have two toes down by their vent, with little itty bitty claws

Knowing only 3 has passed (the 2 geckos, and one lizard who didn’t take anesthesia well), it’s says a lot how much they try to ❤ 100 gecks was so underweight yet made a full recovery

Have you guys thought about a clause stating that, if for some reason they can no longer care for an adopted animal, they bring it back to you as opposed to selling or dumping it at some random place? I've heard those things can be hard to enforce, but it might be worth a shot. I saw a ball python listed at my local humane society and I was sitting there thinking there's no way they have a good setup for that snake because why would they? I'm sure they would do their best, but they primarily deal with dogs and cats, so unless the snake was dropped off with all of it's supplies, it probably didn't have adequate heat or humidity. I checked their listing on my day off because I was going to pick her up if she was still stuck there, but she wasn't listed anymore. I sincerely hope she got adopted by a nice family

What ages do you guys hire at?

How do you deal with surrenders that are the sort of person has left their pet with a family member while on holiday and for some reason that family member surrenders them to you genre? Like when the actual owner comes back and finds out do you make an exception in that case? How do you sort of navigate that?

I used to have leopard geckos when i was younger and wabted another one.
Found a rescue near me and got a new baby. She is the sweetest.

Thing is, they turn the story to where they're the innocent ones and make a really good place to adopt reptiles into the big, bad, company.

I hope you have a "do not sell" list and add the people who give up their animals to you.

I'm proud of you I live in a hoarder home the embarrassment keeps me from taking matted underweight or pregnant cats out to a surrender place I moved and anonymous surrendering is a life saver I took over 73 cats to them and they never made me feel disgusting I smelled they smelled but now they are safe and getting the help they need

How does someone help support your surrendered animals?

As someone who wishes to start a reptile rescue in the future for my surrounding area here in Maryland, this is very informative. I've been watching your channel for about 5 years now - give or take - and have learned so much. I bought my first repile which was (is - she's healthy and very sweet) bearded dragon in October of 2020 and did so much research before I got her (same with my crested gecko).

I think its super sad that these programs arent more available everywhere. Dogs and cats yep but reptiles. Sad cause theres so many tortoise snakes etc that need homes and they are hard to find. I e been attempting yo adopt a tortoise for two yrs with no luck. I can purchase but not adopt. Especially with tortoises i know there has to be many ilder ones that need good homes. I refuse to purchase a baby

I think every rescue has to deal with unreasonable people.
Once I spoke to a lovely lady who was running a small reptile rescue from her home, and she once had someone who wanted to adopt a bearded dragon that day. So she asked what kind of enclosure they had set up... none. The person that wanted to adopt just thought that they could buy an enclose later, a tiny aquarium would suffice right? And no, she did not think she was going to buy a UVB light, those were too expansive. The person was then very surprised she was not getting a bearded dragon, it was her son's birthday, she really needed one today! How dare the rescue demand a proper home for the dragon, think about her son who now would not get a birthday gift!

30 bucks fee for an adult female pastel at breeding age, I really respect that y'all's adoption program clearly isn't profit driven. If you wanted to sell that python for profit you could command much more for it and I respect the hell out of you for not.

How do I get the pastel ball python?

I was wondering, do you allow locals to join a "waiting list" of sorts for specific types of reptiles, i.e. specific snake species? It might be good to keep track of what you get in and pick the, say, 4 most common types/species (i.e. Beardie, Leopard Gecko, Snake, Amphibian) and you allow customers to get on this list for their preferred type. Require all the same requirements that they would normally have, except they pay the adoption fee when they pick up the animal. Then the waitlist has first priority on any animals that are adoptable of that type.
