Welcome to Barberani winery, Umbria, Italy. Interview with owners Bernardo & Niccolò Barberani (wine tasting!) - another installment of “On The Road Edition” hosted by Stevie Kim. In this episode Stevie travels to Umbria, and she visits the Barberani winery, in the Orvieto Province, near the Corbara Lake. Here Stevie meets the owners Bernardo and Niccolò Barberani and together they taste different vintages made from the Orvieto’s indigenous grapes, Grechetto and Trebbiano Procanico. The tasting becomes an opportunity to talk about the history, the special terroir and the particular microclimate of the area, ideal to develop Noble Rot and make fabulous artisan wines.

The Barberani winery was born in the vineyards of the green Umbrian hills, close to the waters of Lake Corbara, a combination of unique terroirs that determine the complexity and typical minerality in their wines. Founded in 1961 by Luigi and Giovanna Barberani, the Barberani winery has always worked in complete synergy with nature and the land, pursuing a natural and sustainable approach to agriculture.
