Youre right with that when it comes to delay management because the real technology makes things easier for the user of that technology and in the future the usage of one technology to counteract or to augment one technology or technology combination will be prevalent meaning a mindset think of a particular technology to appear and do its function shall obey the thinker if those different technologies within the control of a particular institution only are synched or interconnected to each other like ironman commanding the nannotech suit to wrap into him in an instant because if its really modern tech designed for the real future and not just manufactured future in a made to believe thing then we can assume the voice command, mind command, finger click command are synched to the sensors receptors of those advanced tech, because if we will cover the innefficiency of our present equipments with regards to its shortcomings and trade offs in capability in its functionality then we can never advance to the real future coz problems unsolved, and the new purchased tech equipments after several uses malfunctioned already and poor and pausing network signals are a real subpar techs and equipments that are laughingstock jokes to the advancement of invented materials coz when the basic thing unmet so improvisations rendered useless such as hi tech gadgets while no electricity or generator or any power back up or a fully functional network with some established follower fan base and eager to encode some more but with on and off network signals and with subpar network equipments purchased from cheap tech vendors are not suitable for the future and are a big joke to society, maybe they can live in the 60's and the people in there shall be amazed with their sometimes functional and sometimes non functional equipments.

As my father is a dentist I am not afraid of any surgeries. A few days ago I had a surgery under TIVA and as I remained pretty relaxed I likely did not get any Midazolam.... have I missed anything? 🤔😂 Should I ask for it next time? 😉🤣

I got an M. Sc. in chemistry so I even had to produce propofol once in the lab under non-GMP-conditions. It's a simple synthesis and it's amazing that such a simple molecule is that powerful.

AMAZING video ... THANK YOU... One comment: Please make your videos a bit longer so we can learn more from you ... One question: Can't we just give a barbiturate (i.e. Theopental) at a bit higher dose .. wouldn't that make the patient unconscious (anesthesia) and therefore will not feel the pain? ... is there a difference between anesthesia and analgesia, can you be under anesthesia and still need analgesics?
Thank you

The fine details make the biggest difference thanks for sharing about Ondanstetron and the QT interval as well as Neostigmine and administering Glycopyrrolate first beforehand and waiting until the client is not in too deep before administering because the drop in heart rate that follows.

Fentanyl was given to me during and after a TKR. It did absolutely NOTHING...no pain relief, no mood elevation, increased anxiety and depression and 3 days post op, I was ready to kill myself because of pain.Ketamine was used for my first TKR... a game changer, no pain, no depression, elevated mood, clear headed...I felt on top of the world. I will never allow anyone to prescribe fentanyl to me, but am so frustrated that here in third world Australia, I cannot access the very real benefits of ketamine. Chronic pain patients are turning to street drugs or taking their own lives because our government has made pain relief a nightmare of regulations and red tape, ensuring the patient is far less important than the doctors rules. The opioid crisis coined in America is a construct counting deaths of addicts of street drugs in with deaths of suffering pain patients. It is cruel, obscene and dangerous.

I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for surgery on Friday. This video was very helpful to help me understand what I could possibly be given. It doesn’t help that I have extreme anxiety so I’m trying to look at everything and I would say this was one of the most informative videos I’ve watched. Thank you so much.

Seems some of the medication you mentioned are used in lethal injections. Problem is drug companies don't like their products used for killing, and so they're forced to use substitutes that ends up causing suffering (or perhaps causing suffering is the objective??). But sometimes I wonder if it's because doctors aren't allowed to execute anyone, and drug companies not wanting their products used in executions is what causes botched executions?

I mean after all, all they need is for an anesthesiologist to just put the condemned under, dial up the drugs to extreme and he will die peacefully.

Or use firing squads. I'm pretty sure Remington, Winchester, Colt, etc. won't care that their products are used for government sanctioned killing.

And why l am forgetting a lot, my brain seems to work slower, l forget familiar words and take days to remember them, l am even typing trible times slower than before, l miss my mental sharpness all that after doing a breast exicisional biopsy under general anesthesia, it has been over six months now. I am only 41 could it be dementia or any kind of brain damage? I suspected that my anesthesia doctor was a psychopath he was very mean and l saw him injecting something that looked like iodine povidone in my veins, and l checked my thyroid levels three months after the surgery and l got hypothyroidism and thyroid nodules, my thyroid levels were perfect just before the surgery, but that's is not what l'm worried about, l am worried that iodine might have harmed small blood vessels in the brain and it caused damage, I really kept feeling burning and pricking pain in different areas around my brain for months now ever since that operation

The first thing that was injected in my veins was morphine it caused burning pain in my veins as it went through them and I felt pain in my neck and my brain, it was horrible. Was it necessary l was very calm before it and l felt far worse after it, following that the doctor injected something the same color as iodine pivodine, l was not comfortable and he was a jerk so l stopped asking questions and l don't know what was that. I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me, cause I asked after the surgery and he denied that there was anything like that injected in my veins.

Why do you separate amnesia and unconsciousness in conceptual criteria? Unconsciousness is the best means for amnesia, and you can’t have memory without consciousness anyway. Surely the basic defining aspect of general anaesthesia (as opposed to local anaesthesia or sedation) is unconsciousness?

There were several medications that had post-operative effects but are administered in the induction phase. If they are mainly meant to relieve post-operative symptoms why aren't they administered during emergence?

I was always interested that when I go thru general anesthesia that the doctor will explain to me about what drugs he uses and how much of anything he gives me. I have been thru general anesthesia several times now and woke up totally fine. I guess the main thing to worry about is the amount of what you give not only what. It has to be super accurate. I am not trying to become such a doctor myself I am just a science and chemistry lover, ironically despite not being strong in math to which I use calculator if I need there is no shame in it. Thank you doctor Max, you gave me the answer no doctor will have the time or patience to give normally.
