RIP Brandon Murphy
Look into his case online. I just found a thread on a gaming forum in which his mother posted about his passing. And found his memorial page via wayback. Really sad. Poor family.

Great, now I’m pissed off at 2am.
Stargate Worlds' story is a little more involved than that. In addition to the fraud listed in the video he was also embezzling investors' money which was supposed to go towards developing the game. With the money gone development on Worlds stopped. Here's where Stargate Resistance comes in, and it's an odd duck. It was not a planned game, but a passion project by the developers to fund the completion of Worlds. They spun themselves off as a mini-development studio within their existing studio and basically took a large amount of what they had done on Worlds already and sliced it up, and put the pieces back together in the form of a class-based shooter. So in a sense a portion of Worlds did get released. However it was not to last long. The developers got C&D'd by their own damn CEO. Not content on embezzling and committing other types of fraud he decided to be a dick to his own employees and tell them that they didn't have the rights to the Stargate IP, he did. And he forced them to shut the game and its servers down. It's a shame because it was quite fun, albeit suffered from balancing issues, and it really sold the feeling of being in the Stargate universe. Going through the gate was cool as hell. Being able to explore part of the SGC was also very cool.
ОтветитьRIP Brandon ! ❤
ОтветитьBio Force Ape smashed carts shenanigans are wild. I wonder, did people at the time believe the second smashed cartridge photo or did they immediately remember the prior hoax and went "Yeah, that's cute, now where's the real deal?"
ОтветитьIt would be nice to have a DYKG video about the Breath of Fire series by Capcom.
ОтветитьBallz 3D
ОтветитьMy favorite part of road rage as a kid was making a huge traffic jam just to have the radioactive bus’s cause a huge wreck. I don’t know why I found this so fun lol
ОтветитьI don’t know anything about this but it seems comprehensive
ОтветитьSimpson's sequel should have happened. Such a shame alpha male syndrome killed it, and the company.
ОтветитьOkay I was really surprised to see that Sega VR headseat
ОтветитьFunny to hear about the drive situation on the ps2. Considering the ps2 had a junk disk drive, im not surprised its a downgraded one. Sony really liked using throwaway disk drives.
Ответитьi’m honestly surprised this video doesn’t have more likes … it’s very info packed and has plenty views. kinda unfair
ОтветитьI swear there was a version of Mario 64 for the DS but i cant ever find a version of it online anywhere.
ОтветитьFor real, I was about to say that Bio Force Ape's character animation was super smooth. Glad to know that it's one of its "selling" points (not that it was released ahah)
ОтветитьSimpsons Hit&Run was such a fun game. It's a shame it never got a sequel or even remaster.
ОтветитьShout out B Murphy for putting it online. Bro was really a goat
ОтветитьNot usually a commenter, but I was made aware of this video from the DYKG update video from yesterday (7/30/23) and started bingeing a few videos. I couldn't believe how much love and passion went into The Simpsons: Hit and Run, and how massively influential that game was to me as a kid. It was one of the very first video games I ever played on my Xbox and it absolutely shaped the genre of games I love and seek. Even to this day, almost 20 years later, I still confidently feel that Hit and Run is my second favorite game of all time (second only to Risk of Rain 2). I eat up every bit of information DYKG can proclaim abut this game and I'm still devastated that we never got the sequel that the devs, evidently, really wanted to give us. Maybe someday, in this age of nostalgia that we live in, there may be some shred of hope for a proper sequel somewhere in the near or distant future... maybe...
ОтветитьMan, a hit and run sequel could've really been interesting, considering it may have come out on the 7th gen consoles seeing the upgrades that would have come with it, that would have been dreamlike for young me.
ОтветитьI wonder how "Lost games" will be defined in the future. As there seem to be more shovelware, assetflip or just half-finished games being made every year we might have to start create some form of filter of which games are worth saving.
ОтветитьI absolutely love the long form content on this channel!! I can just chuck this on in the background when I'm doing something mundane and it's great ^^ So interesting how these games just appear out of nowhere, how do they get out of the hands of developers? 🤔
ОтветитьThe Simspons Hit and Run was such a blast to play as a kid. Shame they never made a sequel
ОтветитьAlways love the lost video games videos because it's so wild that your team is able to dig it out from history!
ОтветитьI'm still upset over Brandon Murphy's untimely death. dude deserved better.
ОтветитьThese one hour long videos is always nice to have on in the background when doing something else, and perfect to learn some trivia.
ОтветитьI appreciate the journalistic efforts made by you folks to keep these untold or nearly lost stories in the public mindspace. the story of Bio-Force Ape was kinda a wild one when I remembered hearing about it on the main channel.
ОтветитьYou guys are legendary for making an archive channel. I love the dedication to uncovering little known facts about are favorite games and now to keeping the history available to the public! Keep it up guys!
ОтветитьAlways love to hear stories of what could have been. I remember spending so many hours on Hit and Run and would have loved to see a sequel. The things that could have been! Also, big gratulations to reaching your first subscriber goal!
ОтветитьHonestly I do wish I could play some of the DD versions of games like pokemon snap I wonder how it could be different though with how fragile the disk games are im kinda glad it wasnt here. I also remember seeing the sega vr rumors when i was a little one lol
ОтветитьI’m still waiting for the day Mother 64/Earthbound 64 to be leaked online.
ОтветитьI’m crying at the fact there was a game called Ballz 3D
ОтветитьHopefully Earthbound64 will be found
ОтветитьI love how scummy elite collectors are.
A game is only worth money to them if no one else can ever play it.
I’m guessing that the SEGA VR was the VR that was played in the movie “Blank Check”?
ОтветитьWhen saying costs today I think you're very wrong. When saying costs today I think you're very wrong with that 3d. It would not be millions it might be 20$?😊
Ответить"ballz" 3d.
idk.
i dont even know now.
Pokemom RPG?
ОтветитьEAT COMMUNISM!
Ответитьrip in power brandon
ОтветитьSimpsons fighting game, Mario party game, carting game we missed out man
ОтветитьKikeaforina Rasians where for the kike board room! That anit Canadian fire. It's general betrayed
ОтветитьNot even watching the video. Just came here to say Hit and run is absolutely not a lost game. You were absolutely high on crack for even putting that in the picture....
ОтветитьThe tail end of that raisin story hit me in the fuckin neck like WHAT?????????}????? Rest in peace Brandon
ОтветитьSorry to be nitpicky, but you could leave a couple of seconds between each game. Just to let the mind "breathe" a little, you know. Excellent video.
ОтветитьI still have hit and run in my collection.
ОтветитьNo donkey kong 64, red nor sapphire, smash bros 64, conkers bad fur day, or GameCube or Dreamcast yet? So much potential woth dreamcast using the joycon as a light gun that actually works not like the house of the Dead remake that looked pretty but was a huge flop. Hiuse of the deas overkill deserves a remake for the switch but woth a gun setup that doesn't induce arthritis 😂
