I could watch you doing this for hours, who am I kidding I have been. Its so interesting, I want to graft, but my plants are too young

Will Cleft graft work now in springtime?

Hi Charles. At the moment, I dont have the option to do the approach or piggyback graft. Can I still get away with doing the cleft graft to my 2 yr old bears lime thats in ground? I want to graft eureka and orange onto it. If not what graft do you recommend? I appreciate your advice.

💡IDEA:
What if you just used a DRILL and made a hole AT AND ANGLE along the cambium for the the cutting to slip into?
(Less open area & no securing)

Im still surprised I can put Almonds on my peach tree. Now imagine breeding a peach with an almond as the seed.

Not sure about the nylon line. It will surely be cut off and discarded into the soil

In Birmingham UK have a fig tree which bear load of fruit which doesn't ripe and falls off after a while, needs help for fruit to stay and ripen.

Are there certain fruits that graft better on certain types or root stock (dwarf, semi dwarf, full size)

Can you graft a pomelo scion onto a pink grapefruit tree rootstock using electrical tape? Wow I learn something new - Fishing string? What about dental floss? Thank you for zoom in to show the detail. In the past year, I fail in all grafting technique. Looks easy but I fail in all bc I did not know about the cambium need to match exactly. Smart ideas using the paper towel to keep it moist. I was worry thinking the fishing string will kill or cut through the scion. Amazing, This is the best detail & simple grafting technique on YTube channel and very educational. Thank you !

On your last example of the piggyback method, will you eventually cut off the Ponderosa root stock so the graft continues to grow only on the Eureka lemon or keep it attached to both the Ponderosa and the Eureka lemon tree all the time. Will it hurt to have these two trees’ root stocks growing so close to each other?

Are you saying if I have a zone 4 dwarf peach, I can graft a peach, plum, cherry that would normally be a zone 5 and live? March 12, 2021
