I believe the earpiece left by original dendro archon is meant no mind control. And its all done to protect people of Sumeru in her/his own way. In land of where knowledge is most valuable, to protect people from learning the truth, possibly about fake sky.
I wonder when(if) the dendro gnosis will be stolen, the power will disappear and we both learn some truth AND will leave people of Sumeru exposed.
Also thays why they cannot dream, they might not have abitions, human curiosity.

Other Archons have already done similar things, what if she turned into desert that part of Sumeru after or during the Archon War, after original Dendro Archon died. Raiden have also done similar thing to Watatsumi Island's Archon, so she also did same thing to that ancient civilisation's Archon, maybe? 🧐😕

I'm not sure I like the implications of the Akasha System being powered by the Gnosis. Its suggesting that with the Gnosis the archons can theoretically make up any law and the people WILL follow it. Vision Hunt Decree would have been super easy if Ei just understood how to use the Gnosis. Its probably why the Fatui Harbinger's are trying to take away the Gnosis aka 'the Divine Authority' mentioned in the harbinger trailer. It also highlights that Venti, Zhongli and Makoto are very chill gods. Same cannot be said for the Hydro, Pyro and Cryo archon.

And the thing about the inability for Adults to dream and to a lesser extent to imagine has been touched on in the first half of Venti's story quest with that gadget Lisa invented that lets you see other people's imaginary friends.

At first I was neutral about Sumeru but man the hype is getting real now. I will still attempt to pull for Yoimiya despite my need for Cyno and Alhaitham. I have been a wanter for over a year, lost 50/50 on her first banner and saved up but due to unfortunte circumstances (Itto eating my pity and Kazuha banner hitting hard pity twice) I only have enough to get to hard pity and I have never won a 50/50. So my Yoimiya haver dreams are crushed.

All I can do is hope you win all your 50/50's on the path to c6 Theresa- I mean Nahida.
