I have a feeling that the 8 spiders stat is an average. Most people in...civilised countries will barely manage 1 a year. Whereas those tropical countries and government-free utopias such as Somalia, spiders, flies and vermin probably make up a large part of the diet...I am realising, as I write this, I do sound quite bigoted...be that as it may, does it make it any less true?

Fun fact: whilst the myth of being unable to digest gum is plainly not true, the human body is unable to digest spiders legs. As the average human consumes about 8 spiders per night your body eventually gets filled beyond it's carrying capacity and the legs eventually burst out of your skin.
