Hi Tim, I'm about to start my new career transition journey to UX/UI designer. I'm not really sure which direction I want to go to atm but I'll keep studying and figure it out! (Hopefully). Because I do like solving the problems of what people wants and needs but at the same time I want to design UI elements and little interests in coding too. :-) Your video helps me a lot to picture my 2023-24 UX/UI journey. I felt in a rush as I'm 30 and I need to save up money so I've started other full-time ish work. :-/ But I'll take time and do what you said; learning basic design principles, recreating stuff, and building a portfolio, etc. :-) Just wanted to say thanks for great tips!! Hope you have a awesome day.
ОтветитьMay I ask what your camera and mic setup is? I wanna do a channel myself and despite a 150 Euro Rode and a proper ringlight and good smartphone camera, I dont seem to get good enough quality. Neither audio nor visual. Would be curious for your help :)
ОтветитьThis video is timely! I'm about to start my training tomorrow and this gives me the guideline for success I need. Thank you sir for sharing
ОтветитьCan I ask How old are you?
ОтветитьGreat content, as always 👏
ОтветитьI'm truly excited to see this video acknowledging that a traditional design school isn't the only route to become a UI/UX designer in 2023. The 5-step process outlined here is a refreshing approach that emphasizes self-directed learning, leveraging online resources, and hands-on practice. It aligns perfectly with the modern way of learning, which is often more flexible, accessible, and tailored to individual needs. This approach not only saves time and money but also allows aspiring designers to develop practical skills and stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving field. Kudos to the creators of this video for empowering self-starters on their journey to becoming skilled UI/UX designers!
ОтветитьHow can I get a mentor? I've been reaching out to people but I've not been getting any reply. I've worked on some designs like you mentioned in the video. I need someone who can point out my mistakes and where I need to improve.
Ответитьi joined udemy ui/ux course late last year wanting to change my career. 3 months later, i quit my finance job and got a job as a ui/ux designer in a local company. So very grateful even though im the only designer and no senior to guide me. I learnt so much and excited to keep growing
ОтветитьThis pretty much confirms what I've been saying for years as a full stack developer: UX design isn't really anything that deserves to be called a job role. Anyone can do it, and most just steal the work of others.
Mark my words: economic bloodbath is just a few months away, because our economy is based on nothing but stolen value.
I need to tell you that you're also an amazing Teacher.
ОтветитьI'm currently in a job i hate im a chef i cant do that anymore an I've always been interested in UX design because i look at aps an website an they drive me mad from the way they are presented an I've always been someone with tons of idea but never been practical in applying them. Im not the most artistic person in the world which i feel is a issue i don't have degree I've been a chef for 10 years an i want to change careers i feel like im delusional but these videos give me hope.
ОтветитьIm in my 40s. Is it hard to get into a career with ux design given the younger crowds? Thnx.
ОтветитьThe video and caption title does not make sense xD
Besically what it stated is: Become UI/UX designer without school by becoming "self taught".
Watching your or other videoes, is not being self taught xD It is exactly the same thing as a school without the defined environment of a school.
"I can assure you that a year from now you'll be landing a design job" Do you mean a job or internship?
ОтветитьGreat video, Tim. Got really good insights. Appreciate it.
ОтветитьI went to design school and I'm still self taught lmao they didn't teach me shit
ОтветитьYes there is no need for a design school they are pulling cash from your pocket and sit on a chair teaching you design principles with slides, a checklist followed by random links they name the course “Web Design Pro”
Ответитьdope man just dope
ОтветитьThank You so much! Really appreciate all of your suggestion, this is really useful for me as a new insight to learn more!
ОтветитьThis is dope. I’m currently a designer. I ended up switching over to a bachelor’s in psychology after getting an associates in web design and development because I felt as though I could do the rest on my own.
Those considering this track, might consider still getting a degree in something human related along side these things to have a degree to fall back on throughout your design career as well as added knowledge about humans.
Wow, this is an amazing and straightforward video thanks.
You said something about recreating, please can you lead me through on how to recreate designs.
This is one of the realest videos I’ve seen. Thank you! I’ve been working on my own business for over 15 years and am transitioning to the UX/UI field. So I can say as a veteran of business, this content is solid. The harder I work, the luckier I get! Thanks for making these from an old dude becoming a newbie UX designer.
ОтветитьI am 31 yrs old, can I look this as long-term creative career path?
ОтветитьWould be a great idea if you do a video on how to create responsive text fields. Thanks for all you do in your videos. You are good at what you do. I anticipate the teaching on interactive text fields.
ОтветитьGood day Tim
I just started my UI/UX journey few weeks ago, I would love to ask if I can get to share my designs with you for corrections. 🙏
Thank you! 🙏
ОтветитьHas anyone tried Google UX Certification? I just took a look and it seemed suuuper basic and not really worth trying. but pls let me know if it's worth it or not :)
ОтветитьThanks Tim, can you please share how to design faster in figma cause I'm really taking a long time designing I have a little experience only i started designing 3 months ago
Ответитьi really like your video and your editing super great ! thank you
Ответитьvery clear and straight to the point..subbing
ОтветитьHi! Thank you for the video. Quick Question: how many portfolio pieces would you recommend for an entry level job? I'm planning on two projects (one for a process redesign, one app from scratch for an existing company). Do you think this would be enough?
ОтветитьHey, i just wanna send through my thanks and appreciation for this video, thank youuu very much
Im totally subscribing or more
