Cultural points for using what I take to be the authentic Sioux language. But Custer was known for his long...BLOND...hair. And what's with the orchestra that suddenly shows up on the plains whenever anyone rides anywhere?
But I quibble. All in all, a pretty good film.

Thank you for the upload. I was watching it on TV today and had to go out missing the final twenty minutes, so nice to see what happened. I liked Ray Milland as an actor, I thought he was very convincing no matter what character/role he portrayed.

The character Captain Edward Garnett, that is the nemesis of (Ray Milland), Captain then Sgt.Kern Shaftner, is written with the traits of what we now define as a Narcissist Personality Disorder/NPD, more specifically a Covert NPD. (Although I am yet to be convinced that the Covert version isn't mire accurately a Sociopath, as the classic Overt Narcissist (those whom are blatant and easily read as an NOD by their behaviors, actions, what they say and in front of anyone, like D Trump. They aren't aware they aren't perfect or that their behaviors are often child-like in their expressions and they literally have an Emotional Development that stalled at childhood to adolescence).

At any rate, the Covert NPD does a great deal of mind games and gaslighting, (talking behintheir victim's back in an effort to discredit them, this can be emotional torture, abuse X 100).

1 in 30 are some form of NPD and they can be a chapter to get beyond. Make an effort to gain awareness, it is most undesirable and can be quite toxic an experience.

Ernest Haycox was one of the greatest western writers of all time! Besides this great movie,he wrote Cheyenne Autumn, Border Trumpet and the classic John Wayne movie, Stagecoach! I'M ANDY, ANNMARIE'S HUSBAND AND I WROTE THIS POST NOT HER!

Everyone praises the main actors, but Forrest Tucker was tremendous in this gritty Indian Cavalry classic.

What is it with these chicks and Army dudes. Seems like every one these flicks in the same era, has this as a plot.

The ending is edited down to oblivion but still the plot is pretty bold for 1952. I wonder if Oliver Stone plagiarized this for Platoon...? Ray Milland never disappoints

The sound is off a bit. The voices are pitched just a smidgen fast. Is this one of those things people have to do to get a movie posted? Too bad.
