How Walmart Is Betting Big On Stores To Catch Amazon In E-commerce

I haven't spent a penny at Walmart in 7 months and I don't intend to ever again.

I’m not at all interested in buying products on line. I enjoy going out shopping. Only when I can’t find something I want in stores will I then look online to make my purchase.

I actually buy more from walmart then amazon, because better prices. only things that aren't available on walmart I buy on amazon..

Walmart already lost. No usable website, no posted prices, no delivery. They lost decades ago. It's over, they can give it up now and cater to the in store customers and slowly dwindle away.

Amazon just reinvented the Sear's catalog in a digital form.

The only problem with Walmart is that most of the product they advertising is out at the store, so you have to wait for delivery, when Amazon already has it. Walmart is it's own enemy and will never succeed to take over Amazon until they revamps their way to do business at it's stores and else where..

Wal mart and Amazon have one thing in common. They under pay their independent contractors and employees badly. Wal mart only has local quick delivery because of contractors.

Walmart will never catch Amazon. Amazon gives the customer results, Walmart gives the customer excuses and double talk.

Love the competition and Walmart seems to be getting better at the game. Wish we had Walmart delivery in my area. Don't know why not, since the store is only around 7 miles away. I believe they should use small electric vehicles and recharge them directly from solar panels on the store roofs. Interestingly, I have had a third-party item fail to arrive from BOTH Amazon and Walmart. It was a canned food (specialty, imported) item, both times.

I have so many thoughts about this but will comment on backend experience. Our grocery store currently offers online shopping. It has many gaps at the store and technology level it’s astounding. I am friends with our early morning shopper and yesterday I asked her what she does with orders that include items in our produce department that we are frequently out of…she gets chastised for the amount out of stock items. It’s produce people…it comes and goes, and has a limited shelf life. I guess what I’m saying is that perishables have no place in online shopping. And combine that with a small staff of people required to produce specialty products such as fruit and deli party trays get real, we are not your slaves, get off your tuckus and do it yourself….

We did that concept. There were big problems of discrepancy between real stock and stock qty in the system. It was a real headache to deal with that, and we only had 35 stores

Kinda hard to beat amazon when they're always out of stock on whatever you need. Walmart's website Is glitchy at best. See something you like add it to your cart and it's out or the delivery date changes. If you Buy something from a third party them Walmart won't stand behind it and you're on your own with the third party to get them to make it right.

Beware of home delivery from Walmart, recently my package was delivered, but the item was missing from the inside and Walmart did not refund me even after multiple follow-ups.

10 months later Amazon lays off 1,000's. Walmart, Target, grocery store all closing stores in Democrat cities.

I live within 10 miles of two Walmarts. One Target, one Whole Foods, one Publix, one Ingales, five or six chicken places 3 McDonalds, a Chi[poles a Panera Breads 8 eat in national franchises, Ruby Tuesdays Applebee's Popeyes Texians, a Golden Corral. That's just a small portion without an official survey. Seems all to be doing well, as there is plenty of money to go around.
If I could advise Walmart, I'd say get rid of things that never sell and restock the popular items that you have deleted from your inventories...

I bought a Circular saw from Walmart online and had it shipped to me the same day. I got opened the box and the damn saw was already used and the damn cord was cut. The walmart where I live is a joke.

Isn’t most of everything at Walmart still made in China????? That’s always been the problem with that place. I get that’s the problem everywhere in this country but Walmart sells crap which is how they used to just be above dollar store prices.

Looks like most people on these comments are forgetting the loss of millions of jobs. Now that these big companies realized they don't need as many workers that much and it's ok to trash costumer service for good, they are all looking for the "Amazon way".
Unfortunately all this is causing absolute disasters in socio-economic areas. More unfortunately are the consumers, not just the new generation only but also middle-age who are falling for this trap. Everytime you are doing things with the click of a button you are ruining the future of your fellow human beings. Meanwhile these same companies have their own CEOs and all of their criminal cooperators fill up their bank accounts while we have to pay for their ridiculous never-ending luxuries.

I placed an order with Walmart to ship. Walmart changed the shipping order to delivery from store. Then the order was canceled because I didn't go to the store to pick it up. I placed another order to have 6 bags of softener salt delivered. The 6 bags were stacked against my condo unit storm door which was my only way out.

I think one of the issues is that Amazon will give a 50% discount to members on food stamps , disability, Medicare, or medicaid. People who qualify are able to pay $6.60 a month for every service & if you connect it to your Twitch account, you get 1 free $5.00 subscription for free. Most of my supporters just give me his/her/ their free prime subscription.

For those who don’t know, Walmart has a third party delivery service. Only grocery pickup makes up the largest part of any Walmart’s revenue.

If you work at Walmart you’ll notice “OGP” is the best funded, and most prioritized department in the store. That’s because Walmarts business model is built around that specific department.

When I left Walmart as a marketing manager (July 2022) they were testing and implementing its own delivery service similar to Walmart. Expect to see Walmart delivery associates in the next year or two.

I must say, Walmart+ sucks. Unless you're a huge Wal-Mart shopper, you won't save any money due to the high subscription price PLUS TAX! And unless you love watching ads, don't bother signing up for Paramount+. No thanks, Walmart!!

Walmart retail stores are terrible terrible in my city ..I have a Costco membership and if I could buy everything I need at Costco I would only go to Costco .I can't tell you how many horrid experiences I have had with Walmart. They have closed 4 stores in my city in the last decade , I don't believe this video . Walmart is going to be the Sears of the future

I’ve had problems with deliveries from Walmart because they use Fed Ex. Their policies are all over the place! Sometimes you can get things delivered, sometimes you can’t. Sometimes you can pick up things from a store and sometimes you can’t ! They also don’t have free delivery unless you pay for it. Prime is the same but you get other benefits with Prime that Walmart doesn’t off

i love shopping at walmart but at there store but there online shopping isway behind amazon had very bad experience they lost my package twice and both the time they didn’t inform me for a month and kept on saying it’s delayed and there customer service is bad

I ordered a rowing machine 4 weeks ago and nothing showed up. Walmart keeps saying it was delivered but it was not and no one will answer my inquiries as to what happened. I can't get my order sorted or my money back or anyone to answer me. I'm out the price of this rowing machine and no way to get restitution, refund or the product. I keep getting told the Chinese supplier is looking into it which translates as I am screwed for $200. Oh well.....not like Walmart is the only supplier on the planet. It's just damned unfair. Seniors get screwed all the time it seems.
