your setup is the best way to use impale of you dont have the oils for Vengeant Cascade. If you do Splitting Steel is by far the best skill

I watched this 5 times and I still don't know what impale does. I might be a little retarded.

Also I think The Impaler works perfectly if you are using slow af slams, I mean, you hit every 1 second or more (depends on how much prep do you need with warcries and stuff before smashing), and if the damage you're appling is physical this should work very well, or am I missing something?

Awesome explanation, haven't rly played much with impale but I'm currently lvling impale tornado shot champion in archnem hc and I will scale dmg by stacking arm+Eva with perseverance belt and will get 2-300% inc dmg + permanent onslaught from belt alone, and watcher's eye for 2 additional impales. Again awesome explained so now i understand it alot better, I will attack super fast and alot of projectiles from ts, will the call skill be worth on bosses then maybe?

There are a few reasons you may want that impaler keystone.
You brought up the spell side of things, but there's something else that I think is worth mentioning.

An impale reflects the damage of the hit that inflicted the impale.
This means in some rare cases it is better to inflict five impales based on a single SPECIFIC hit than it is to inflict 6 based on six hits.

Some example cases:
If you have node that increases your FIRST hit against enemies (for instance all the impale nodes that say "when you impale a non-impaled enemy").
If you have a single FAT exerted attack.
If you have a huge hit from flask effects or can ensure a single crit or take advantage of other TEMPORARY modifiers to your damage, like it being lucky or similar.

I'm sure there might be more possible things for that specific use of the node, but I feel most of them fit in that last category.

I'll have to think on it some more, but I feel like there's probably at least one other good use case for this, I just cannot think of it right now.
