The Market have been suffering over the past month, with all the three indexes recording losses in recent weeks. My $400,000 portfolio is down by approximately 20%, any recommendations to scale up my returns before retirement will be highly appreciated.

Bill Gates went to Private School. The school let him get out of taking Math Class to work with Computers! Sure, by your description maybe - Probably I'd rather be wealthy than rich. But I don't object to work. T raining for the Football team was a lot of work, for example. I lifted weights, ran, did calisthenics, worked with a lot of exercise programs and football drills. It is hard leading a Football team to a State Championship! So there can be a lot of benefits from working and being positive and happy about it. I enjoy work. I like being connected and working with and being around Government. I enjoy the charity work I do and respect the charities for their work. And I enjoy raising a family with my wholesome values. But obviously money is always necessary.

I wouldn't consider Lucas rich in your example, he just has a high salary. Net worth is the difference between your assets and liabilities. If Lucas has a high debt to income ratio, he cannot be considered rich. The best path towards wealth for us non Bill Gates types is to aggressively use your income to eliminate debt, especially mortgage debt. As long as your money is being used to service debt instead of earning interest for you, you'll likely never achieve true wealth.

Understanding the concept of crypto is of great importance. People thinks investing in Crypto is all about buying coin and then allow it to rise, come on! Fun fact about traveling I learned. You don't need to buy a first class seat, when flying and you're at the gate you can ask if they have a first class seat available and if they do you can get it free of charge (someone might miss their flight or cancel). I do this all the time to get free first class seats if they are available.

I know so many fake rich friends on facebook cause of my past work. Driving luxury cars, eating steak and seafood every weekend, renting their apartment, partying every weekend. I'm over here like driving a honda, I own my home, eating steak and seafood like once every few months, most of the time traveling.

We are not rich. We are wealthy. I worry about money a great deal. Maybe I don't need to worry; I mean, we've never been without anything that we truly wanted or needed. But I have to feel that because I worried and took positive action to save and invest money, we're in a much better position financially than if I had never worried. So please stop oversimplifying things. We could easily have ended up bankrupt or homeless if we had not been so careful.

How can you be "middle class" and have concerns about money in terms of paying bills and other basic stuff? I actually dont get it, because middle class is when you revenue suits to a pretty wide circle of needs, all basics included
