Mazda CX 30 Carbon Edition has the best external and internal appearance. If we drive normally and safely, basically we don't need turbo option.

I test drove one of these very recently, and was completely blown away by what you get for the money. Like for around the same money as a 'consumer trim' level Soul/Kona you're getting an experience of car that is closer to Lexus than Toyota. The seats are INCREDIBLE, the Turbo AWD setup is so smooth you forget its there, the transmission is great, the CX-30 rides awesome.
It makes me question weather to get a larger sedan or this, even if the back seats are a little tight and headroom is limited.
Its on the list for sure.

I have a Mazda 3 Turbo 2021 I put 44,000 miles on it in the last year. And my expectations for the car were to be a reliable all wheel drive car that can handle some snow some ice. And still be fun. My prior car had been a Subaru Impreza hatchback, and I liked that car but the two major flaws were the CVT which I hated, and just no power.

I think of my car is the tiniest GT car ever. It's not built to be ultimately quick or fast it's built to be very comfortable and to be able to go quickly when you want it to and still be comfortable. And for that it is awesome. I was looking at some BMWs and some Audis when the Mazda crossed my path. And I was so totally impressed with the little car that I got it. As my daily driver.

The biggest weaknesses in the car I've noted are the brakes, they fade disturbingly quick, which I have addressed with mazda. The way the power drops off at the top end. It has great low-end torque and between say 2,000 and 5,000 RPM it makes driving super easy, but anything above 5000 it's just not even worth doing. Might as well short shift. Perhaps a slightly larger turbo or a different turbo architecture, or maybe a hybrid Turbo would completely transform that car. If you could keep making power above 5,000 I think it would go from being sprightly to downright quick. And it would make passing in the mountains, which is something I have to do quite a bit where you have very short passing zones, a bit easier. Also I'm not a huge fan of the low profile tires with 18-in wheels in the mountains. You really have to watch for potholes cuz you will destroy a tire.

I absolutely love the non-touch screen infotainment system. It took me a couple of days to adjust to what the controls were and where they were but after that I don't have to look down ever. I can simply flip through modes and control everything that I want with my eyes still on the heads up display.

For all the concerns with the rear torsion bar suspension, I haven't found that to hold me back at all. I regularly Drive the Dragon & similar roads with about 300 lb of gear ( I do independent it contracting, and I carry basically everything I need with me in the car). Obviously I never really push it on public roads, but I found it to understeer slightly but other than that to be very predictable and you can settle the understeer with a little bit of throttle.

Personally I love the Mazda 3. But I wasn't expecting a mazdaspeed. I wanted a small reasonably quick reasonably efficient well handling car that could carry the gear I have to carry, and this car far exceeded my expectations at the price point.

a lot of Mazda fanboys here. LOL. you are all kidding yourselves if you believe mazda is a great car. all flash no substance. 5 year old mazda's probably half the market value of equivalent toyota or honda.

Great review , champions! We have a good reason to get an SUV here in Miami, Florida: Rain and flooding! Hahahaha That's why here there is a decrease in sales of coupes! Besides k the small SUV are more practical! If they add the panoramic Moonroof they will make the CX 30, the perfect and fun small SUV car! Car Driver puts it at number one in its category!

2022 cx-30 gt premium trim owner here. Love the engine, great little suv, but can’t believe it comes without park distance sensor, that should be standard at least in this trim. Otherwise, very happy, nobody needs more car than this, really.

Mazda 3 Turbo and cx30 turbo which is faster?

Mazda's engine are great(on more expensive models), but you get a lot for your money. They need better designers, the cars are as bland as Audie. The only one that looks great is the MX5.

I just drove a 2022 Mazda CX30 turbo and was less than impressed. Yes, it had power but it was not fun to drive at all.

Iv had a mazda 3.. and im really taught on my car.. i dont do maintenance... forget oil changes.. etc....
The 2014 is the first car i actually pay off... and it never went into mecanic ever... except for brake.

I don't mind all the plastic on the outside. I think it's a very sharp looking rig.

Body colored cladding makes it look like a Dodge Caliber.

Engine sucks on 3. Engine great on raised 3 with plastic cladding and different name.

I love this car but my only gripe with it would be those plastic wheel arches that really do the body a disservice and make the overall appearance seem odd and cheap. It almost looks like that ugly Vehicross that Suzuki made! If it was all just one solid color this thing would be perfect!

I need a bit of a lift, awd, good power/fun and affordable price. Is there anything else out there that would tick all those boxes better?

I feel that car reviewers go through so many cars that they start becoming numb to what the cars offer. This Turbo is mind boggling in this CX-30. Way more than enough for regular drivers. It will put a smile on your face every time you floor it. No matter how much you try to behave for MPG sake, you will keep pushing it hard because it rewards you.

Just push the the Emergency brake button down Before you move the car. It’s Much better than hitting the gas and driving through the break being on.

I bought my CX-30 in machine grey which matches the cladding perfectly so you don’t even see it… couldn’t stand it in other colors. The car is so well balanced and fun on curvy roads, I am very pleased with it and for sure made the right choice for my needs.

Mazda SkyActive on CX30 does not have torque vectoring. What they have is G-vectoring which is reducing torque to the front wheel which is under more load and increasing the torque to the wheel that is under less load in order to improve steering response. Again, no torque vectoring....more weight and much more expensive. And I do own 2021 Mazda CX-30 AWD turbo...and I love it. Let's see how does perform in the winter.
