The early batches also suffered a severe "dust issue" acclumating behind the front element of the lens.
ОтветитьFYI - Tamron has a 2nd generation of the 28-75mm that is lighter, sharper, faster AF, all around better than the first generation Tamron this Sigma was compared to.
ОтветитьIt’s amazing I just watch you do the Canon review for the RF 24-70 which is over double the price. And this way outperformed it. This is why Canon doesn’t like third-party manufacturers make lenses.
Ответитьsome said Sigma lenses will get dust inside easier, is that true?
ОтветитьCristopher are you a fajmošter??? In slovenia fajmošter means pastor?? Anyways thank you for everything. We really love your test, they help us alot. <3
ОтветитьThanks again for the great work. Looking forward to see a test of the sharpness on a Canon r7
Ответитьis this aperture fixed or variables throughout the focal lengths?
ОтветитьHe sounds like Varys
Ответить“The lock … Is frankly unnecessary.” That’s SO TRUE, I find it completely obsolete, and it doesn’t really lock the lens given how heavy the optics are.
ОтветитьComparing this to the Tamron 24-70mm who wins?
ОтветитьGreat video. There was problems with this lens getting dust inside the optics. Sigma fixed this problem on later models. Supposedly, any lens with a serial number above 5564*** was corrected by Sigma by better sealing. They did clean any earlier lenses for free if you paid for shipping. I own a later model of this lens and it is superb.
ОтветитьHow does it compare to the HSM version for DSLRs?
ОтветитьHow does it compare to the new Tamron 28-75 G2?
ОтветитьDoes distortion and vignetting even matter When they can be corrected in post with a single button? 😊
ОтветитьHope to see reviews on the sigma 24-105 and sony 24-70G thank you
ОтветитьAf tests with an A7RII? 🤣
Ответитьcan sony a7iv handle the weight of sigma itself, or should i use an adapter for that ?
ОтветитьCan you do a video on the 24-70mm GM ?
ОтветитьFor lens reviews, this channel is my 1st choice. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьFor lens reviews, this channel is my 1st choice. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьIs there a difference in the other version of this lens?
ОтветитьI’m using sony a7r4a with sigma 24-70 mm f2.8. I see a heavy distortion at 24 and 70 mm. And a moderate distortions at other focal lengths.
The pros are its sharpness, with 61MB image size i can see tiny details more clearly when i zoom in
Advice needed..... if you had to choose between this and the tamron g2 which would you pick for both apsc and full frame I need your advice and you are the only reviewer I trust
ОтветитьGood sharpness at f11 is not really something to consider.. cheap lenses are sharp at f11. This Art lens should be sharp all around at f2,8. I think it's an average performance with a little bit more than average at the center of the image. Tamrons are better.
ОтветитьJust ordered this lens yesterday for my Sony a9ii. I’m a paid portrait photography & can’t wait to get this for my arsenal.
ОтветитьLlangrannog
ОтветитьI ordered this. Have been shooting with the Tamron. To my disappointment (construction). But let’s talk about how the century old Gmaster is 2700 euro still here in EU. I snagged the Sigma new at 1066 euro including sending. A more modern lens.
ОтветитьIf I could only have one lens, this would be it. Unfortunately, I just can't afford it. :(
ОтветитьSo it sounds to be ideal for video. Can you keep correction on in video mode of sony a7s or a7 cameras ?
ОтветитьWould the sharpness be the same as on full frame if it was on a apc a6400?
ОтветитьThank you so much for your hard work !
ОтветитьVery good.
ОтветитьIt is half the price compared to the GM because it takes dust. ;-)
ОтветитьAny idea about frequent dust issue of this lens?
ОтветитьThank you for the review! I want to buy this lens but I heard it has problems with dust. Some users have reported that after two weeks of use a noticeable amount of dust is trap inside the lens. Is this actually true?
ОтветитьWhen is this coming for canon?
ОтветитьAppreciate your reviews as they seem to be very honest
ОтветитьThanks for this Chris. I'm an event photographer and often shoot in low light. I'm looking at the sigma or the gmaster and am trying to figure out if the sigma would be able to keep up with focus and wouldn't hunt too much. Any thoughts? Many thanks
ОтветитьAmen
ОтветитьI have been looking at other channels on the same lens... but this channel nails it! Thank you!
ОтветитьGood video sharing !!! Done sub for you
ОтветитьThanks Chris for proper test - So I have to accumulate more moneros for Sigma, instead of Tamron.
ОтветитьAccording to Gerald Undone, turn off the distortion correction when shooting video.
Ответитьwhy sigma cannot have DG DN Lens for Canon RF Mount?
Ответитьcan i use sigma 24-70 f/2.8 on canon 80d? Please help
ОтветитьThank you for an excellent review! I don't see any point in spending twice as much for a Sony lens after watching this!
ОтветитьI tried it, is good but at 24 mm the corners never come sharp.
ОтветитьGreat review as always! I am in the market to buy a standard zoom for my sony... the only option within my budget is the Tamron and this Sigma. I have seen a lot of people facing this issue with dust (just after a month or two). I really wanted to buy the Sigma but after reading those I want to go for Tamron. I guess you have used Sigma for a while, if so could you please post a picture of the front element or share your overall experience? Thanks!
