What is Progressive Christianity?

Great presentation of the subject matter. As a conservative Christian and a very active follower of Jesus I am constantly trying to correct those who are on the path of destruction.

An oxymoron is the answer to the question.

‘Progressive Christianity’ is neither progressive nor Christianity.

Progressive Christianity makes more sense to me than traditional. thank you, Jesus for progressive Christianity. without it I belong nowhere.

Love the Lord God with all your heart and your neighbor as your self. Real love is unconditional love. How a Christian can not suffer for their neighbors who will go to a so called hell, in my opinion from reading the scriptures, have a hateful heart toward those who are in their view not worthy like they are. Christ died for all, yes all. Christ gave himself for all. Sell what you have and give to the poor. Care for our children and families. Do what Christ said to do and stop making up your own great ideas of non-scripture nonsense.

Progressive Preachers thrash the Bible and will destroy Faith in God and they often dismantle basic early Christian beliefs and replace it with their twisted views.

i also think our english vocabulary has been altered and dumbed down so much that even The Bible can be twisted. You pointed out that thier definition of “Inspired” is different from what the Bible defines as “inspired” it’s because they given it another definition like a lot of other words. The dictionary keeps updating and changing to appease modern dielect, morals and style. But Gods Word (The Bible) never changes… our definitions of those words do because we don’t want to except that’s what God really meant.

Progressives basically say that the bible is an inspired human work, which means it's mostly just a big turd with a few peanuts of relevant teaching in it that you can pick out and still eat today.
Traditionalists say that the bible is the Eternal Word of God and that all scripture is God breathed and it is bread from heaven, it was valid then it is valid now and will be valid forever.

The choice seems pretty obvious.

Just like it’s ugly sister political progressivism, progressive Christianity, which is not Christian at all, is rooted in a belief in the moral superiority of its adherents. Despite all their claims about their beliefs being rooted in education, study, intellectualism and scholarship, at their core, their beliefs spring from a conviction that they are morally superior to scripture and scripture alone as the basis for faith and practice. How else to explain their belief that GOD is a cosmic child abuser for sending Jesus to the cross? How else to explain their denial of Hell? Their adamant acceptance of sexual lifestyles that are CLEARLY contrary to scripture? They believe they know better than GOD, which is the height of arrogance. Their supposed moral superiority will send them to Hell and will offer NO comfort for eternity.

From a Catholic perspective (which I have), progressive Christianity is about the biggest slap in the face to millenia of theological, philosophical, and sacramental development. It is also the extreme result of Protestantism and the emphasis on personal religion

That's based on too many rules like the Pharisees were back in Jesus days. It was mostly about "men" but women were left behind so to speak. In which the apostle Paul had some left over traits from the Pharisees traits to extremes in which I believe this apostle struggled in certain areas too and he even begged God to take away these tendencies in him. But Jesus came to bring equality for women that were oppressed by pharisaical and narcissistic spouses that followed the teachings of the religious Pharisees.....
Pharisees were bias they were quick to stone anyone they saw fit but when it came to their gender meaning "men"... then there was " exceptions.. " which Jesus was not in agreement how these Pharisees treated certain groups of people. Jesus was justice and advocate for the oppressed and discriminated people.
Progressive is a change of mindsets as modern days we live today. If people don't like progressive Christianity, then many can pack their suitcases and move to "old Jerusalem \Israel and live like perhaps old times people used to live there. To literally copy the lifestyle of the Jews from that part of the world in case scenario.
Just remember how Jesus himself behaved and treated His own people the Jews and the Samaritans which had different beliefs and customs. Its obvious that Jesus didn't demand that much of them yet the Samaritan people believed more in Jesus than his own country men the " jews"...if that makes sense. Jesus said: woman....(the Samaritan woman) 👇🏻

Progressive Christianity is Satan infiltrating the modern Church.

I think the biggest differentiation from Christianity and Progressive Christianity is that Christian salvation comes from Jesus as God paid the penalty for our sins when he died and broke death when he resurrected. Progressive Christianity believes salvation is God loves us, and by love they mean the superficial, worldly version of love.

What is so scary is that this is exactly what the Bible warns us about. A new movement under disguise of Christianity that is actually the complete opposite deep down

"Progressive Christianity" is three beliefs:
1) Our modern secular sociopolitical values of Progressivism happen to be God's values.
2) When there is a conflict between Progressive and Biblical values, that section of the Bible should be ignored, denied, or reinterpreted.
3) Jesus loves me, therefore I have no reason to live to any standards beyond what I like to set for myself.

We have the same thing in judaism it's called reform but progressive Christianity sounds way worse its just liberal policies crammed into scripture

Listening to some other videos showing a progressive movement perspective reminded me of a visitor to Eden. "Did God really say.....?"

The argument is who believes the text to be perfect, vs who questions certain things in the text.
You are wrong on progressive Christianity, you are trying to group us all up into one class, that's foolish. you used a disclaimer early than continued to do just that.
My version of Christianity is very different from other versions.
I reject CRT, against transgender children movement against Hollywood new religion and I don't disguise my questions as answers. Christus Victor is the original doctrine of salvation. Conservative evangelicals = fundamentalism and narrow who discredit the academic study of theology. For them discovering the historical Jesus is an anathema as this involves critical thinking about the Gospels. Penal substitution is a narrow view on salvation based on the 18 century law court from where it had its origin. Who did Jesus die to release us from - the devil or God. It denies and ignores Johannine teaching of salvation won through of love.

The truth loses its power, the self is too visible today, or are those who carry their cross.
When the word is treated carelessly and hearts are not sanctified by the truth, how can the Lord speak through such a man.

It don’t even matter anymore what they say or how they misinterpret God’s word to fit in with the lifestyle they chose. Progressive christianity are just a bunch of lost souls who love their sin so much & are just finding excuses to continue living in the lust of their sin. However, true believers know that God is not one to play around with and we live with the fear of God’s wrath! God is all about TRUTH not feelings so for those who believe in such beliefs should be very, very afraid!
