I did a test. My shorts were getting 40 30 views. So I went to a channel of 700,000 views per short , i copy his video style I did the same he did.
And got 10,000 views in one day...

Explain that.

My own videos are have more creativity and quality than the copy I made.

what happens when say my son uses my iPad to watch videos, now the videos on search are based on his taste, now I enter to watch, and suggestions don't match my taste. then search topic becomes more important for the algorithm?

if a video is posted perhaps at the wrong hour and your viewers are not logged in, it would seem unfair for the algorithm to assume it is content that is not liked by your viewers.
however, I do notice later the video will pick up to its usual view rate and sometimes way better, so perhaps it is not hindering you, and it starts the process later when the audience is actually present.
Furthermore, I have noticed that if only a handful of viewers are on like say 3 or 4 on a small channel, then the algorithm tends to rest the video out and that seems ridiculous.
To combat this, the most important thing I have learned from you which is the biggest challenge, is good title and thumbnail, and I have noticed they do make a difference.

Yeah, I sometimes feel that I'm "shadowbanned" now, 2 weeks after monetization...

The only issue I have with this video is the fact I had a short at 100.1 avg view percentage, 48.9 ctr and boom, no more shown in feed, just stopped for 2 days. What do you do about that?

Took me 2 weeks to get 18k on one of my songs by cassindica so im not shocked

Almost all my video are getting 11k views and then the views get stuck what should I do

i feel like algorithm is a scam, i feel like there are manual curators who go through the videos and promote them manually behind the scenes depending on the videos that are inline with the mood of the nation and political stances

As a viewer I hate the Algorithm!
I watch 1 Video about a certain topic, then my feed is full of Videos of the Same Kind. My feed suffers for weeks, just because I watched 1 Video. Even if I dislike a certain Video, I get more of those. Maybe because I interacted. I would love to disable the Algorithm.

Algorithms need to be cleaned n monitored

The algorithm is the human brain, its up to us if we click your videos, if we feel tired and not on the mood we don't care about your videos, that's all. haha
We are not robots even you put a lot of efforts on your videos, it depends on our mood lol.

I work for a podcast and views have plummeted but the content has remained similar and the fans are very engaging. People complain that YT didn’t notify them about the new drop or they have t seen anything from the channel. How do we keep growing and get that fan base back? It just seems unlikely that roughly 40k+ people just stopped watching weekly.

I'd recommend not using discord sounds in your video, it threw me off. I thought I had joined something in the background and took me out of the zone/flow.

I feel the human factor is still not taken into account. Just because I watched a lot of cat videos last month to relax a bit and get my mind off things doesn't mean I want to continuously want to watch cat videos every hour of the day forever. So why does every refresh show me cat videos?

Yeah I totally don't get the algorithm. With my channel, it seems that the videos with average CTR and lower audience retention do really well and the ones that have really high CTR and decent audience retention don't have many views. I'm not sure how the algorithm is choosing which videos to push!

I have actually never experienced a 1/10 after a 10/10. In fact ever since my channel blew up from shorts I have never gotten better than a 7/10 on my long form videos. Mostly 9/10 and 10/10. So count me in the skeptical camp 😏

As a view i look at how long a video is before chosing to watch it.

What a complete load of crap. Your videos don’t get recommended at all if no one watches anything on your channel. When every video is a 10/10 and getting 0 views day after day, that’s genuine proof of how the algorithm actually works.

why does my vids get 90% of its views in the first 2 hrs and 10% cmes 2 months later? ALL THE TIME! and why is it when i dont do commentary on reused content, it will get 10x more views?

The part that wasn't mentioned in this video is how 99% of the channels that get a their first video to go viral is because it first went viral on reddit or some other external site.

I've had shorts that I've done that were similar content mixed from the same video and one got 10.5k views and the other got 4 views. As far as I'm concerned it's entirely random. 🙄

How does the algorythm choose which vids to post?
