God commands us to work that’s part of are punishment after the fall of Adam and Eve, so we do have to provide for are families. Also if you are tired spiritually and remorseful of your sins and you repent and put your faith in Christ he offers us who are weary and heavy laden to come to him and he will give us rest

I once worked 14 hours a day the whole week.

This is one of the few times I disagree with Matt. I think our system is messed up. Why do people have to work their entire lives and sometimes end up with nothing? The government doesn’t even want to pay social security so older people can live on their own. It doesn’t have to be this way with all the billionaires we have. Hard work should mean you have something but it doesn’t always work that way unfortunately.

I work 50 hours/week and I am already thankful for the reduced hours of work I do today

I was doing 70+ hours/week in my 20s earning a lot of overtime in order to lay the foundation of what I have today

I do agree that things like healthcare and education should be free basic human rights, but somebody still has to work to be able to have the funds to pay the infrastructure to provide free healthcare and education in the first place, so I recognize and understand my place in the larger machine

Well, living without work is impossible and shouldn’t be a goal. But frankly, I think we are at this point of automation and development when, it’s time to start moving towards 6hour work day or 4 day work week. And I’m sure there will be some dummies who will say, “oh it wrong, and the only way is to work 14 hours a day without weekends, like in old good times”, but Scandinavia already trying to move to the 6hours work day, and Scandinavia, not without reason, includes the best countries for living on planet.
