Turning on this feature allows X to show the location you are posting from as part of your post.
You can choose to add a location to your posts using X for Android, X for iOS, X.com or other mobile applications. For example: To give additional location context to your post, you can add a general location label such as “SoMa, San Francisco." In select locations, on X for iOS and X for Android, you may also label your post with the name of a specific business, landmark, or other point of interest. These locations are provided by Foursquare and Yelp.
If you are using X for Android or X for iOS, the post may also include your precise location (i.e., the GPS coordinates from which you posted), which can be found through the X API, in addition to the location label you select.
It is important to note that deleting location information on X does not guarantee the information will be removed from all copies of the data on third-party applications or in external search results. Additionally, this setting will not remove locations shared through Direct Messages.
In some areas, you have the option to label your post with a specific business, landmark, or point of interest. These places are sourced from Foursquare and Yelp.
