Several singers and groups are NOT here. HEART, Elton John, Stevie wonder by himself.
You did see: Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney did the duet "Ebony and Ivory" which compared the piano's black and white keys being harmonious and asking "why can't we [humans] ?" That Is why they were on a keyboard.
The STAYING POWER of MADONNA
ОтветитьYou are brits and don't know candle in the wind? Its the Princess Diana song.
ОтветитьIt's so funny seeing which songs you kiddos have heard of and not, it certainly isn't always what I would have expected.
Like how you all just instantly recognised Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe, but had no idea about Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven! :D
I'm 41, born in '82, so the 90's is really the decade I grew up in(don't really remember much of the 80's).
I went to a lot of concerts but I must have not listened to this kind of a lot of music. Hard rock was better.
ОтветитьI think I can forgive y'all for not being aware of 1997's version of Candle in the Wind. Elton's original version was an 80s song dedicated to Marelyn Monroe, the 90s version was dedicated to Princess Di because she died around that time and it was sung at her funeral. Since y'all weren't born yet, it's fine. But yeah it was rare back then to see footage from another country (outside of the Olympics and huge world wide sporting events), but this was one of them and her funeral aired in the US too.
90s were my teen years and in fact I graduated HS in 2000. So yeah I knew all of these songs lol. Fun fact- when One Sweet Day first aired on the radio, I actually said, "Song of the Decade there" not known just how much on the nose I was because it would hold the #1 spot for 16 weeks for 23 years.
Is anyone besides me sadden that it took until 99 to see Cher (if you saw the 80s video). Like she's one of those few artists to have #1 hits in multiple decades.
This is the soundtrack to my school disco lol.
ОтветитьThis video makes me feel old as fuck
ОтветитьWhen you realize that the 80's and 90s were nothing but good music, movies, tv and an even better time to have lived.
ОтветитьI cant believe yall didnt know the elton john one. He sang it at diana’s funeral!! (1997)
ОтветитьHow come some of the biggest 90s songs of all are not on the list? Oasis had 7 number 1s and Blur 3, Pulp, The Verve Infact Brit pop (which defined the entire decade) is completely missing
Ответить90's is full of movie musics.
ОтветитьY’all must not be r&b fans lo 🤣😭
ОтветитьI was born in early 1990 so I only remember 1993 and up.
ОтветитьBueno Metallica no llego a este “bilboard” pero sobrevivió mucho mejor que los 90’s que muestran
ОтветитьI was nearing the end of my school years when you guys were born, the first time I hear Backstreet Boys was at a roller disco, they always had new music a few months before the shops.
ОтветитьCrazy to see adults who draw a blank on Nirvana
ОтветитьTake a shot everytime mariah carey shows up, your liver will die
ОтветитьTears in Heaven by Eric Clapton is actually a pretty sad song dedicated to the memory of Eric's 4 years old son Conor, who tragically fell off the balcony of a 53-story apartment building in New York.
Ответитьoh shit, them not hearing Remember the time before is genuinely insane.
ОтветитьWow, wiht a few exceptioms 90s music is crap. Now Im scared to try to see 2000s and so on.
ОтветитьThx for the reaction. I enjoyed this and you knew way more songs than i expected. Love from Iceland.
ОтветитьI remember being 7 years old in 1995 and the music video of Earth Song by Michael Jackson came on TV unannounced and kind of blew us away. Those moments don't happen anymore
Ответить90s were the last decade that was good. After that it went downhill mostly. Shame no Jamiroquai. Pearl of the 90s.
ОтветитьAs someone who was in Jr High school and high school in the 90s, these are all the songs I heard over and over. Many are classics and it was shocking how few of them you know.
ОтветитьI feel bad for those who didn't get to experience all of the 90s. It was a magical time for music.
Ответить..cos we were born in 99
Thanks for making the rest of us feel OLD.
Cheers for that 😬
Thumbs down because every song plays ridiculous short.
This kind of video is good when the song get more time. this one sucks
I knew every tune
ОтветитьSix songs I didn't recognize...mostly Boys II Men. This is when my daughter was growing up and she looooooved listening to the radio. I played professionally when younger and quit just before I got married in 85, so I wasn't so in tune with the music scene after that. I still prefer the 1960's and 1970's over the 80's, 90's, and 2000's.
ОтветитьKeep in mind this is not a UK list, it seems to skew to North America, it's also why you didn't know so many songs ...the UK one while having some overlap would be different i.e. way less Mariah Carey and boys 2 men and more take that, Britpop, dance music etc etc.....while US and UK tastes had some similarities there was also a fair bit of divergence as well.
ОтветитьDid she say she didn't realize Janet Jackson was a singer too?!
Also that she doesn't know any Madonna songs?!
Gen x > the rest. 🙂
Ответитьlate 90'2 is when the good music died
ОтветитьYou have definitely got to react to titanic movie ! So good!
ОтветитьStreets of Philadelphia won Bruce Springsteen an Oscar as he wrote it for the film Philadephia 👍
ОтветитьHow do you count do you count the wrong way 0 is not a number it's a placeholder! Therefore 1990 was the last year of the 80s 91 was the first year of the 90s the year 2000 was the last year of the 90s 2001 was the first year of the 2000 ones
ОтветитьReally you're English you're British and you don't no Elton John's candle in the wind was written for and only performed live once at Princess Diana's funeral the remake version the original version candle in the wind was about Marilyn Monroe!
ОтветитьDuran Duran's Ordinary World made my day back in the 90s. Such a massive anthem for the loss of close ones.
ОтветитьOdd..
I thought ALL English/UK citizens were required to know every Eric Clapton Song by the age of 10.
i love the movie Titanic it came out in 1997
Ответить"i'll be there" is a song done by the jackson 5 the group consisted of michael jackson and his brothers
Ответитьi was a 90's kid i was born December 3, 1990 i'm 32 now wow i'm old
ОтветитьDo 2010s
ОтветитьI can't believe I was dancing in a club when Haddaway What is Love originally came out.
ОтветитьSeveral of these songs were song by earlier artists. For example: I Will Always Love You was written by sung by Dolly Parton in 1973.
ОтветитьWhere is Mariah Carey's Hero, Honey, heartbreaker. They were all number 1
Ответить90’s rock. Fun fact, you can dance the macarena to the song Cotton Eye Joe.
